I'd love to know if both these accounts are posting from the same IP.

... but anyway, as fun as this is - can anyone tell me if the Wales - Australia game is worth downloading to watch? Seems to have been a bit of a dour affair.

Do not, under any circumstances, download and watch that game.

    Awful match!

I'm only getting to see it now, as I missed the last 10 minutes, but I thought that offside against Lawes was incredibly harsh. I'd love to know why he was offside - was it the NZ player who stepped forward or the English player on the deck he was judged against?

Even if you take the most advantageous to him - the player on the deck - he was in front of the hindmost part.

A couple of things counted against him, though. The player on the ground was driven back, and he was always a long way forward of the defensive line, which made it look even worse.

Edit: added a pretty picture because I said I would yesterday. Used the wide angle as it's easier to see the cut of the grass. To me it's not even close. Possible I'm slightly biased, though.

It's the most up to date one. Includes the results from today's other games.
No change to Ireland/Argentina rankings might be a mistake.

Pretty sure there's no way Ireland could gain anything from beating Argentina because their points differential in the rankings is too great, especially when you give Ireland points for home advantage.

It was the same situation for the All Black's playing France in the summer series. The All Black's couldn't gain anything from the 3 matches, but they could have slipped closer to Ireland if they lost.

The pre match event at Cardiff was really tastefully done; simple and sobering.

Why have it all? I hate when military and sport mix. And that went on forever too. That being said it was more entertaining than the first half of the match itself.

Never has a truer and more inarguable statement been ever uttered on the rugby board.

    Heed it :)

Because they are primarily recognising the players from both nation's who died during WW1. Was done incredibly well and with sensitivity

I wouldn't argue there but was massive monkey off Wales back. 13 straight losses so a 3 nil win would have been equally welcome. For the purists the breakdown battle was savage and that's about all that can be said about the game.

Also yet another controversial decision over high shoulder something has to be done to get it right in a consistent manner

Lawes was offside alright. England did well but the conditions were so bad you were better off without the ball. It was never a game for NZ.

is that based on rugby or racism lol

    I've heard it al now.

The only interesting thing about that game was halfpenny missing two sitters.

New Zealand will be on 93.58 world ranking points after their win against England yesterday. If England's try had been given, and they won then NZL would be on 91.58 ranking points going into our game on Saturday.

Ireland's points won't change based on our win yesterday so unfortunately it's impossible for Ireland to overtake NZL even if we hammer them next week.
If Ireland win by 15 points or more, Ireland will move to 91.69 and NZL will fall to 92.01 world ranking points

Edited because I ballsed up the calculations.

Ireland can't overtake or draw with NZL next week no matter what happens.

Totally agree. It’s like USA now with military at all sporting occasions. Thankfully we were spared in Dublin.

The IRB separates teams based on their stance on the treaty.

Hard to see how it isn't these days. What was the sanction if any?

    Red card offence or not?

Very similar to Stander poleaxing Lambie a couple of years ago. Even then, being accidental was no defence.

Hard to tell if Halfpenny gets hit in the head or chest so maybe a red would be harsh.

Not even a yellow, Halfpenny had to be taken off

Late hit. Off the ball. Shoulder to the head. Take your pick.
