BB was absolutely brutal in defence there.

    Lawes was onside there.

    Yeah poor/harsh call imo.
If he was offside then he was offside the whole time he was moving towards the ruck cos he only goes sideways. Garces didn't seem to have an issue where he was.

    How is that offside?

Just ahead of the fowardmost foot of the ruck. Very close call

He's ever so slightly in front of the rest of the defensive line when he stops moving sideways. And then it's been slowed down to show he was a half a toe in front of the hindmost foot of the ruck.

Harsh call, but that's what happens when everything is slowed down and analysed within milliseconds

    Poor by England

    That was not very smart.

He has to be behind the most forward foot in the ruck. He wasn't.

Now, it wasn't a masterclass by NZ to get that decision by any means, if I as far as saying Lawes was unlucky because there was a split second in it.

    Poetic justice really

    For last week?

England have no rugby intelligence what so ever.

Johhny May couldn’t pass water, no wonder he plays on the wing.

No comments on NZ laying all.over the ball there?

At the start they said the TMO is suppposedly advisory not the law. Could have been over-ruled.

Absolute shocking there. Just hold on to it

Lawes was ahead of one NZ player in the ruck = offside. It’s close but correct.

    English lineout lost that

Twice in that passage of play a NZ player was on the wrong side of the ruck and took out the scrum half as they were rolling away.

Exactly my point. The TMO made the call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,281 ✭✭✭✭bilston

To me that is an example of TMO overkill.

All Blacks got away with it today. If they play like that next week, Ireland will win.

    Very harsh on England.

Ironic that the English fans will be complaining this week about a refs decision at the end of the game.

    Perfect.

    Bruising game and dodgy win.

Were going to wreck these lads next week.

I don't think the NZ players at the "front" of the ruck were bound though. They just stepped in front of the ruck essentially - which teams do all the time I understand but not sure its a fair offside call based off that.

So is anyone else slightly concerned about the lineout next week? Retallick was a one man wrecking machine on the England lineout today.

    Best player in the world.

We need to sing over the hakka.

Maybe, but Care was falling over them like he was auditioning for panto

Why does the commentator on sky keep calling the decision subjective. Surely it should be objective.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,604 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Lawes was offside. By a ghee hair but off.
