It's the 30 month thing. Most are gone over that now with most births in Feb/March.

I've heard you say many times that you're better than no one
And no one is better than you
If you really believe that you know you have nothing to win
    And nothing to lose

Suckler births are fairly even throughout the year iirc

No, far from it. It's the factory kill that is fairly even.

Patsy, that link is 2016 figures but you are correct calves born to beef sires are about twice that of dairy sires. Here is a link to dafm figures month on month for this year. Click on the second link and it opens a pdf read only file.

According to the link below, 798524 calves were born to suckler dams up to the 5th of October this year. However, that figure is down by 39,022 for the same period in 2017.

Got 3.80 there on Tuesday. I'd say it'll be got everywhere next week. The kill is bound to start falling.

No bank holiday next week, it is the week after. If anything it forces them to keep the kill high next week

Anyone see the independent. What do ye think of Foyle meets latest bonuses and will it shake up the rest of them.

Will things improve a bit if this weather holds

Same here. 3 left to go but not fit. Over age now and have space to house them so they'll be housed in 7 to 10 days when the rest coming in. They might be fit in Jan when the price rises (hopefully)
