I hope Shawn enjoys the money.

Only so many get a perfect retirement, story wise anyway

You get stories like Edge or Bret Hart where its forced by injury, Ric Flair ruining his because of money issues, but Shawn’s was perfect for 8 and a half years

It’s not even for a dream match like Styles or Rollins, might get one of them at Mania yet

Wait until you see how slow he is in the ring. I think the fan reaction will determine how short his comeback is.

Hes doing this for a few million quid and will probably be done after that. Stupid though. He was really the only one who retires in the right way and now hes ruined it.

Lita, Trish, Triple H, HBK, Kane, Undertaker and Kurt Angle, still rocking on Raw in 2018

What a time to be alive

Saudi fans will likely be ordered to cheer even if he was as slow, out of shape and pathetic as Undertaker is right now

They have to try something. The product is in the bin at the moment. As bad as the early/mid 90s post trial era. Maybe some of their experience will rub off on on the current crop.

Talent is right at the bottom of the list of things that are wrong with today's product. They've never had a better roster. If they actually got properly behind someone when they make a connection with the audience, then maybe someone would have exploded to superstardom.

Rollins was white hot for a period earlier this year, but they had to have him fall in line behind Roman. The crowd love Daniel Bryan, but he got lumbered with Cass on his return. Braun and Balor are others who've been the victims of poor booking. If someone clicks with the audience just run with it FFS.

Then you've got guys like Owens, Miz and others who've basically been the same character forever. Raw these days is like picking up a random episode of Friends, you could be dipping in at anytime in the past 4 years and not much has changed.

"The current crop", most of them have been there for years, they know all about Triple H and the other lads, the problem is not talent, its the storylines, its the scripted promos, they need to make the content more realistic.

The scripted promo is the biggest problem by far. Unless they loosen up on that nothing will change.

Think about. If they're were scripted promos in the 90s there never would've been an Austin 3:16. Yet the introduced scripted promos shortly after.

The big issue with the current roster is that most of them really don't feel like big stars even after pushes, some that clearly failed. I often see people praising McIntyre. I don't really get what his character is meant to be, don't pay attention when he talks or see him as being a huge main eventer after this push.
The sad part is a lot of the performers are moving on in years now. Bringing back HHH, Taker, Cena, Mysterio and the like just makes them look like chumps. Some are now pushing 40 so feasibly you probably shouldn't push them in the long term.

I thought HBK and Bryan had unfinished business, did HBK superkick Bryan for HHH

He was the referee in one of those title matches against Orton at Hell in a Cell 2013 in the period between DB getting screwed and WM30, HBK dished out sweet chin music at some stage can't remember if it was for HHH or just because though

Daniel Bryan would be a dream match too I suppose the other 2 just came to mind first for me

So let me get this straight. After announcing Trish vs Alexa and Lita vs Mickie, they have now gone back on that to make it a tag match?
Do they need to make room for another match? Or is it more to cover for rust?

And I still don't understand the reaction for The Bellas and Nia Jax. But at least Ember got the respect of the highly respected veteran, Nia.

Maybe it was due to limited time in the ring, but Kurt seemed to be moving okay.

Gotta agree far too many vanilla midgets and bland characters on Raw these days.

Dont blame wwe bringing back these goats with the crop of non charisma they have on their roster.

Sure i only just realised now that Raw was even on last night. Thats how bad the product has gone for me.

Lita and mickie James aren't looking bad for two women in the late thirties and early forties.

Seems Owens is injured. Natalya has to get a new partner for her MMC match next week.
Looking around the internet it looks like getting knee surgery

The MMC is cursed. How many injury replacements is that now?

I'm not too annoyed HBK is coming out of retirement. I think it was always gonna happen.

But WWE have missed the boat on this. It shouldn't be a throwaway tag match in Saudi. It should have been Wrestlemania with a proper build. Create anticipation

    precisely.

speaking for myself, i'm just annoyed this is a pointless tag match. there is a brilliant story to be told with ton of current talent that would help elevate some of those guys.

Daniel Bryan is an obvious one.
AJ Styles - 'Phenomenal' v 'Showstopper'.

there's also a great story to be told with Roman Reigns.

Roman's schtick is that he wrestles every night, defending his title every night. have HBK come down and tell him that he's been watching him. he respects Roman. he was that soldier once upon a time. at a time when this company wasn't so popular, he carried it on his back, and kept this place afloat. people left, but he stayed and fought.

have HBK tell Roman that the fans don't like him though. and there's a reason. while someone like him fought for everything and had to climb his way to the top - tag team success to Intercontinental Titles to the World Title - Roman has had it easy. he fought Brock for 3 years until he beat him. the fans are sick of it.

HBK can tell Roman that he is sick of it too. he's sick of watching Roman come out week in, week out, and take the fans' stick, and not do anything about it. tell him he's weak. in his day, he'd have bitten back. have HBK accuse him of having no backbone, no courage of his convictions, even call him a millennial snowflake who has had it easy and won't stand up for himself.

but no, Vince preferred to put all the money on the table for something we've all seen in various forms hundred times before, and nobody could really care less about.

He's only doing it cause the Saudi's requested him, there is nothing creative about it. Like everything with that deal it's not being done for any other reason other than money. Surely people realise that the overseas shows have been meaningless.

Can't blame him I suppose. A few million quid for tagging in and taking a chokeslam and dishing out a superkick. Good if you can get it.

While I'm annoyed that HBK's first match back is against Taker, I'm going to remain hopeful that it is a "FIRST" match back.

Coming out of retirement to face a Styles or the likes would have really been difficult to write, in terms of explaining his motivations. While Taker/Kane might feel a waste in terms of technical abilities, the story is probably the best one they could have mustered to explain why he's back. He's always made such a big deal with being retired, but from a story point of view, I think they've handled his explanation for reneging on it perfectly.

It will be easy, if HBK is willing, to use this as a leaping board for the odd showcase match now. He's gotten "the itch" back, and wants to face the guys who he never did. No other story will be tied down with the fear of fans rejecting it as a "He came back for THIS!". Once he's back in, he's back in, and they can let the focus just be on HBK vs whoever.

I doubt this is just a once off. He'll go to Mania.

Which, coupled with the ratings, shows that this new generation has failed miserably.
