Are the potential semi final match ups known or will there be another draw?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,279 ✭✭✭overshoot

Think there is another draw for the semis

In fairness bit of a mental weekend... Four Masters looked buried with less than 20 remaining and trailing by 14 (Termon needed to win by 16 to go through), they pull it back to lose by a point. (having just scored 2 in the previous 40+mins)
Bundoran also went from being well beaten, to winning by 6 with a few minutes to go, level going into injury time and a 66th minute goal to give them the score to sneak them through, again on points difference.

Bad news for Kilcar that Ryan Mc Hugh will miss the remainder of the club championship due to concussion the amount of abuse he takes its little wonder but deserves greater protection anyway his health is the number one priority

I don’t think so. It hit attendances last year but I don’t that it isn’t on Eir for certain.

Only tight game of the weekend going to be in Donegal Town?

I think there will be a shock result somewhere could it be Four Masters v Glenswilly I have a feeling Bundoran could run Gweedore close

Minor upset as in form MacCumhaills take down St Michaels.

    Naomh Conaill 1-09 Kilcar 0-06

Saw the last few minutes on Periscope. Messy enough goal to seal it. Had been fairly tight up to the last 10. Mark McHugh off early with serious shoulder injury. I guess Ryan didn't play?

Ryan out for the year AFAIK.
    Burt relegated to Inter
Buncrana all but relegated to junior.
Dont know of any other results yet.

Alot of talk about Ciaran Gallagher on Highland

There’ll be even more talk of seeding now after Kilcar exiting! But remember, be strong and resist!!!

In fairness take 2 all star players out or any club team they will struggle. 3 if you count mark going off.
Seeding might have got them through another round but wouldn't have retained the title.

Aye, Kilcar suffering with injuries alright.

    Gweedore beating Bundoran handy.

Kieran, the lad who played midfield for the Minors 2 years ago?

Bundoran scores 3-11 and were never in the game

Should be after the watershed. Think of the children!

    Yeah.

Ballyshannon v Glen and St Nauls v Glenfin will both be competitive.

I think Naomh Conaill v Glenswilly could end up being very competitive too. This is the type of game Glenswilly excel in and while they’re not the level they were at it would be foolish to write them off.

Anyone know why he wasn't with the under 20's? Himself and McGee were some partnership at minor level. We're not exactly well stocked with midfielders at senior level.

I'd fancy Naomh Conail to win it. I know they've been a bit underwhelming but think they might come good.

Would like to see Gweedore win it, it would be great for the county team if O'Baoill, Gillespie and Carroll play well as we need a bit of strength and pace.

No result in the semi finals would surprise me.

MacCumhaills are going well and Gaoith Dobhair are set up for a mighty fall!

    Highly unlikely I know....

I like how you’re thinking. Alas, I’d say Ghaoith Dobhair will win it with a few to spare.

Gweedore should be looking towards a run in Ulster with Slaughtneill gone

One step at a time Murphy! :D The lads are certainly going well although the scoreline last weekend was a bit much, hopefully they can forget about that and get back to reality for Sunday. It's the best crop of lads the club has ever had and they are rightly favourites but sure we know that means nothing on the pitch.
Slaughtneill going opens up Ulster alright but all the Gaoth Dobhair boys need to focus on right now is Sunday.

Eoghan Rua Colerain beat them 1-11 to 0-13 in a q/f replay

Considering Nsomh Conail and Glenswilly have both got to Ulster finals and the talent that Gweedore have, who ever wins Donegal should be targeting a run in Ulster.

You are underestimating the predictable unpredictability of the men from Magheragallon.

Doubt they’ll be fit to do much after their session should they win it.
