Anyone will get €10k a year on JSA anyway, so you haven’t saved anything. They would also be entitled to child benefit as is any parent for their children, depending upon the number of children they have, because that money is for the children, so you haven’t incentivised anything, you’re only offering them the same thing they would get anyway, and it’s not even a bribe!

There are very few obstreticians who would have a quandary about permanently sterilising someone who has no job, no home, no savings and who has seven or eight children.

There are plenty who wouldn’t even entertain such nonsense. You need to forget the sterilisation idea, it’s just not a runner.

In the long term a national agency and one housing list might work better than 27 different housing lists. Until then there isn’t an instant solution waiting to solve the issues for Dublin. Sure per head of population I’d imagine the housing lists queues are higher in the rural counties

Navan apparently has a surplus of social housing ,they have more empty houses than they have people on the housing list ,

There is plenty of towns and villages that could be revitalised by moving people out to them schools ,post offices and local libraries could be kept open ,
Encourage personal development and growth rather than saying stay unemployed 10 + years until they get a council house

Look, that is socialist utopia, and it really is what some parties/activists are espousing (apart from the good tenant clause, ah no).

Except those who work and pay their way have few supports, but are paying for everyone else at the same time. I for one am getting sick of it all. Where do I fit in to this Utopian sunny upland please.

We are the provider of course we keep giving and slogging away to keep people in their cushy lifestyle choices ,
And if we get upset or annoyed we should keep quite as we are nothing but begrudgers and they then say let's blame the banks for runing this country while the guberment are robbing the poor ,

So what if she has to spend an hour getting her kids to school. Its not as if she has a job to get to. She has nothing to be doing and all day to do it. Sure while she's there can't she visit the friends and family she wants to be close to, rob a few houses and still get back to collect the kids from school and be home to have a drink with her dinner before the rest of us gob****es that are funding her finish our days work.

As a matter of fact I am not making excuses for the woman . Its the kids I feel sorry for . But look just carry on being outraged at her and any post who does not conform

‘So what’ indeed? What do you want like, a rubber medal and a pat on the head for doing what you’d be doing anyway regardless of anyone else’s circumstances? In the same way as you couldn’t give a shìte for the likes of the woman in question in this particular case, why would you expect she should give a shìny shìte about you or anyone else, only carry on as you do doing what she believes is best for herself and her family.

I’m not making excuses for her, I don’t have to, because I don’t particularly care enough about her one way or the other. I just don’t see what you or anyone else is hoping to achieve by condemning her, and making yourself out to be some kind of martyr. You’re both far more alike than you’d likely be willing to accept. The only difference being that she actually didn’t settle for what she had and quite rightly she went about fighting for more. There’s absolutely no reason in the world anyone here complaining about her couldn’t do exactly the same thing as she has done, and they have numerous advantages over her already in terms of opportunities to do it.

Housing her and her family isn’t my problem, it’s the responsibility of the DHRE to see that she and her family are housed in suitable accommodation, something which they have apparently failed to be able to do so far.
