The two articles you linked were when Leo was running for leadership of FG, his attempt at being the hard man for the FG grassroots.
Btw his claims at the level of fraud were far less than what he alluded as addressed by the head of department.

As an aside I don't agree with the gaming that goes on but it seems our politicians ( the ones in government at any given time) have no interest in addressing it.

Shift the blame - it's the systems fault its being played, not the person playing it..

No accountability at all - it's like someone's car being stolen that was left unlocked - "sure it's your fault for leaving it open" but no blame to the cvnt that stole it.

Despite obviously knowing the truth of the situation, you don't challenge a lie turning the offence into a completely different crime about torturing and robbing an old lady.

Yet you have to pipe up straight away and call liar when I inadvertently quote the wrong piece of camping equipment used in his actual offence, which has no bearing on the seriousness of the crime?

You don't see any double standards in that?

You have to spend time sharpening the tent peg, so the intent would and general scumbaggery is greater than picking up a pole, spur of the moment thing.

Well to indulge you little whataboutery, leave your car unlocked wait for it to be robbed. Contact your insurance company and tell them you left it unlocked. Please update me with their response.

No its not . Im part of the same system so are you so is everyone .

i dont shamelessly exploit , i wasnt born wih my hand out for more than i need.
i contribute to the same system that i would hope to assist me if i fell on hard times . and because of parasites (and that is exactly what she and many more like her is ) there would be less to help me and it is harder to access.

yes there is many things wrong with ireland but parasites like cash help the make it worse and never ever will they contribute anything to improve it .

Yeah they wont pay due to contributory negligence. Insurance contract ≠ law.

Doesn't make it any more acceptable that it was stolen though, or does it?

Have I said it, I have also said I don't agree with gaming the system. However if it's open for exploitation by individuals it will and does happen all the time. We have seen this in many other systems that give support to people. The foot and mouth crisis in the early part of this century showed the behaviour that some framers were happy to engage in. Phantom herds but very real subsidies being claimed.

I would think you have yeah?

    However,

I agree - that any system can and will be played, and should be safeguarded against it to a point as close to water tight as possible - but the onus should be on honesty, I mean if we're all being asked to be socialistic & look after our fellow citizens, shouldn't the feeling be mutual from the nett beneficiaries also?

I mean we should enforce severe penalties & reprimand for any abuse of a system that is solely there for the benefit of society? Not point the blame back on the system that, despite it's flaws, is doing its best.

Yes, they don't own people. There's nothing stopping anyone from getting a job and working there way up to a salary that will allow them to live in the circumstances they wish for. If you want a free house while being fit to work, you'll have to wait and take whatever they give you.

Common sense prevails. Well done to all the NGOs / charties organising this event that must recognise that someone who has never worked and never intends to while having as many kids as possible to attempt to get a free house as quick as possible is not someone that the majority of the population will sympathise with.

I implore you all to go to Ms Cash's FB page and check out the pure gold!

First - there's a brilliant (and I am certain all too accidental!) gag about Michael D's dogs and people sleeping "ruff".

But the real treasure is the comments - Cash and her ilk moaning about "Government money is taxpayers money" with ZERO irony!!!!!

Leo did, but was roared and shouted at that it doesn’t exist.

The number one job of any politician is to get elected. Once they are elected, their new number one job is to get re-elected.

If they make changes to the system, then too many votes to be lost by p1ssing off a large section of the community. I'll be kind and label that section of the community the 'not interested in working'.

P1ss them off and there's thousands of votes gone instantly. That's why the Government are reluctant to change.

I'd love if the Government brought in a scheme whereby those with no interest in working and have been on the dole long term had to work voluntarily for a few days per week to keep their dole. Do you think that'll ever happen? Not a chance. Too risky a step for the politicians to take.

It truly is amazing how these apologists can whine about how "mean" we're being and saying nasty things (even if they make most of it up!) actually have little understanding of the issues.

In the UK, Richard Littlejohn is held up as a negative example of the "typical British man".

I'd suggest Pat Flanagan of the Mirror as our version - he's like a PBP shill wrapped in a moron inside a lifer doleite.

I think the saddest thing about her Facebook page is seeing how many like-minded people comment on her posts.. I would never have guessed there was so many people - even within only her Tallaght / South-Dublin area scrounging off the system.

Every commenter profile seems to be same.
"Love my (3+) kids more than anything in the world"
    School: never gone
    Work: never had 1 + stay-at-home parent
With seeming to spend the whole day posting on Facebook, 90% of which is moaning about the government / council or buying things.

    We’re told it’s a tiny amount.

I’d bet it’s a massive amount screwing the system.

And once free houses are for all it will snowball into an avalanche.

    Madness.

The system allows form me to **** my rubbish on the ground with little regard for anything and little to no chance of any comeback.

I choose not to because I'm not a ****ing scumbag. Plenty do dump their litter as they go and are ****ing scumbags.

No common sense at play here, just optics. Cash is 1 of theirs alright but they know not to put her out and front- they'll have more tear jerker types for that role, women/kids who'll toe the Left's line to the letter.
