Missed de show again today, wat wit being on holiday in de wunderful Cobh, County of Cark. I visited de marvellous Alcatraz of Oireland, Spike Island, where der is a terrible Punishment Block. Der was one cell wit de gory sounds of DEATH emerging from it. Death rattle, gushing of blood from lungs, de lot. Last breaths of a prisoner dying of de dreaded tuberculosis. Afternoon wud be in total ecstasy.

That would be a good location for a funny Friday some time in the future. an opportunity to mix death with ahem fun.

After I turned off at 2.00 today I stuck iTunes on random shuffle. The first song that came up was Old Crow Medicine Show, "Standing by the grave of a dearly departed friend".

    Great song in fairness.

You should email him about your trip, after all you can email de show from anywhere in de wurldid - even Cark.

From memory, Joe visited there (de prison and dat, or maybe it was a graveyard?) a few years back when he left ON MONDAY (!!!!) to do a FunnyFryday from Cork...on Fryday and dat. True story. We had a fill-in from Tuesday-Thursday and Fateen was nicely rested just in time for de weekend away at de Kingsley who likely had put him up and fed him and de crew for the week and weekend dat followed all free pro grattis so to speak and dat.

I wouldn't watch it. My children tell me there's a lot of gratuitous bad language in it

Actually we're almost at the end of Season 4 and this week's episode was the first time the word "F*ck" was used this season. Apparently the writers are limited to one F Bomb per season by the creator, though Season 2 had 3 . If you think about it, there were more F and S Bombs on Da Lahv Lahn this week :pac::pac::pac:. And I can promise you Better Call Saul is just a little bit better than Da Lahv Lahn.

Try it, it's honestly the best thing on TV right now. Even better than Lahv Lahn Call Back and Mrs. Browinz Boyiz.

Fateen couldn’t resist an auld pun-een following de last song from ChicaRgo and dat. If you leave me now so to speak and dat.

    Demm Menn See Ah again.
Gardai wearing Balaclavas so to speak standing beside udder men wearing Balaclavas. WHOY?
New Garda commissioner wearing PSNI medals and a medal given to him by de Queen and dat on his Garda uniform. WHOY?
€300 found at an ATM, man tries to return it de bank and de bank said no and dat. National news story!

    Camp voyis? Don’t ask.

    could be potential gold hmmm

Never say that before de show, it’s de curse of death to Gold and dat. Guaranteed to be shoyte now! Well done! Well done! ;)

You may say it within the first minute of a new caller joining the conversation, but never in adavance of the show. If a caller for example addresses his majesty as “Mr. Duffy”, then incoming Gold is pretty much assured. But to call it in advance is likely to be de kiss of death.

I guess, except there's less death, murder, misery, pain and suffering in Macbeth than in your average Lahv Lahn Show.

We need art critics on Joe's wurk, now!
    Currently in a museum. Fees?

Proud to present my painting (amateur) of the late great Shane MacThomais to ⁦glasnevin museum⁩ for public display.

TWODAY'S De Brand NEW & IMPROVED so to speak 2-18 Joe Duffy Wurkday Calculator and dat:

Wurkdays in 2-18 and dat: 178
    Joe Shows: 141
    No Show Joe Shows: 37
    Breakeens 4 Joe: 37

PBH (de full-time host of de show) Shows: 32
PBH guest appearances and dat: 1
    D'Omen Shows: 4
    AN Udder Shows: 0
Good Fryday No Show by nobody at all at all: 1

    NEW FEATURE SO TO SPEAK:
Fateen's Estimated Fees (De FEF Matrix so to speak) to date dis year:
    AT LEAST €352,500*

(not including de EXTRA FEES for 3 days of De Beast From De East TV + Radio Simulcast Xtravaganza + likely "Danger Money" for travelling to and from wurk in de snow and dat).
    King-World-News-WTF-Is-Going-On-Here-864x400_c.jpg
*de fees are calculated at €2,500 per show x days dat Fateen is in so to speak. Dose fees are likely conservative and outdated as day are 2 years old so to speak.
I'm including Good Fryday as a Wurkday as it is not an official Bank Holiday/Holiday Day. Even Pat Kenny is in Newstalk FFS, but no-one in RTE of course of course.

How many Versaaaaaaaaatissssss patches and smear tests wood €352,500 pay for Mr. Wurking Class man of de peeple wit de wurking class wurk ettic and dat?

Well at least as dis painting is situated indoors and dat we are spared de two suns "error" from previous efforts.

My thoughts? It's at best average by amateur standards; and if his name wasn't Joe Duffy it would be in his garden shed. Instead because of his name - and solely because of his name - it gets into a Museum. Ireland.

Great wurk Joe, keeping de wurk of a real artist out to accommodate another of your vanity projects. Well done! Well done!

Yeah de wall of de scullery (I can imagine younger folk are busy goo-gulling dat wurd) was nicely touched up with a tin of Valspar.

You really are giving him too much credit.

de dictionary one is the great

"I'm anaspeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericombobulation." like to see Joe get his gowls around dat

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

I won't be listening twoday but in fairness De Commissioner is inviting attention and criticism to an already (in some quarters) contentious appointment by wearing the medals alleged in the intro. - TBH, I hadn't heard this anywhere else yet, and I can't trust Joe's description. He's being poorly advised if he's actually doing what was alleged.

de dictionary one is the best IMO

It's been a long running joke for my own amusement to drop dat particular C wurd (and pericombobulations) into conversation when I am engaging/forced to engage in conversation with people who do be do be do be do be using de wurds day don't understand or do be using dem incorrectly and dat. It's amusing insofar as not once has anyone ever asked me what either word means - social convention seemingly compels people to nod and comply. Sasha Baron Cohen (Borat to most of you) does use dis technique too. One day I hope to get to use dem with Fateen.
