If I were her, I'd just cough up and be rid of it. If there's no trace of the original paperwork/ receipt, then tough titty.
She should be grateful the leaseholders aren't attempting to rook her over a barrel like some others are.

He's just not paying very much attention to the callers, caller.

It keeps them talking and lets them know there is someone at least pretending to listen which is usually enough for them to keep going.
