Porsche Macan and Panemera and BMW x6 are all good shouts.

Porsche interiors are just beautiful IMO.

I absolutely love the Panamera alright, I saw my first one for under 40k last night.

    Going from a 6 series I think it's a logical step up.

Great choice in the UK for them and it's a very special car, quite rare on Irish roads as apposed to a g30.

My wife’s cousin has a 2017 one and it’s a beautiful machine. He’s looking for four new tyres after doing 20,000kms!

Is that a reflection of the car or driver? The X6 only needed tyres after a hard 40k... ðŸ˜႒

    That is nice.
A bit dear but a lot of car.

It doesn't look like you'd get one much cheaper even after crossing the pond. If only you could fit 3 in the back.

Just spotted on Carzone that Conlan’s Bmw have the same car up for 2k more and with 5k more mileage listed.
Guessing they sold it in the trade to Indy dealer.

I watched your review of the Karoq Markn.
Really good I thought. You were very natural and informative.
You won’t need to buy a car if you keep doing reviews.
How hard is it to get the cars from the dealers/distributors?

Cheers. It’s handy enough as my real job background helps people identify me as not just a random chancer out looking for free cars (although that’s exactly what I am) but someone who hopefully can get a bit of traction with social media etc so it’s a win win.

I’ll still want something of my own but not in as much of a rush especially if I can get cars every other week.

Driving the Kodiaq at the moment and although I’d like to have tried the 190bhp TDI, engine aside I really do think it’s a brilliant car.

What price is that particular Kodiaq retailing at Mark?

    That's one smart looking vehicle.

    Mid 40s retail I think.

They’ve an all black 190 DSG Sportline that’s two weeks old will be on demo until Oct, stands them €51,000 at the moment and casually chatting I was told €46/47,000 for it then but of course I’d have no trade in so maybe more of a discount but look it’s still strong money when you’d get a 181 530d for that and perhaps even a bit less in Jan. My heart would be saying cop on but if that had a VW badge you might question it less. They really are lovely and look you all know how fussy I am.

The new X3 at a year old or even ex demo could surely be bought for similar money. I don't know would it be much nicer though?

Is the 190 4 motion or whatever Skoda are allowed call it?
I'd be slow on throwing guts of 50k at a 2wd SUV that size tbh.

That Skoda is a fine looking machine.

I think VW discontinued the 190 in the Tiguan so I guess this would be a good alternative if you wanted the extra power.

I suppose if you need the third row of seats that excludes the x3.
The Sportline kodiaq in 150ps version must be a sheep in wolf’s clothing though.
I’d sooner have a two year old x5 with the third row if I was spending 50k.

I really can't see you being happy in a front wheel drive, fairly large SUV type thing when for the same (ish) money you could be in an X5 or a 530d that'd be just a bit older.

Especially when you already have an SUV at home :)

The thing is, for the typical customer looking for an SUV like this, the Skoda will be the far easier option for most. Most of them will be bought on PCP finance which isn’t usually an option on a 2-3 year old alternative.

Brand new car. 3/5 year warranty, service pack, low interest finance, manageable repayments and trade it again in 3 years for another one.

    2015 X5s are €50k ish and most are 3.0s too ?
    Probably incomparable to the Kodiac.

Just checked and 2.0 151 can be gotten for low €40ks ish.

It’s soon to be a 4 year old car though and a 2.0 X5, not sure how much craic that would be. I know the Kodiaq is the same power but you know there’s no 3.0 option in the Skoda. That would bug me.

The one I’m in has 4X4 and it’s the only one to have, FWD in this could be very nose heavy and not anywhere near as glued to the tarmac.

Interestingly enough, a G30 M-Sport pulled up beside me at the lights and I did think, yeah, I can see myself in it as I sat there in the Skoda.

But I have to say, if I never had a BMW in my life before and I stumbled across this car I’d be very impressed.

I’ll hopefully get the video I did of it edited down over the weekend.

We have 2.0 x5 x drive as our family wagon.
They are 225 horsepower twin turbo so no slouch in the real world. 0 to 62 is 7.7 seconds so goes ok. Averages low 40’s mpg. My wife drives it so would have a more sympathetic right foot than me. It’s extremely comfortable on a journey.
The third row is for kids only and short term use, but this is the case for most of these 7 seaters.
I think a 2/3 year old with a bmw warranty isn’t a bad buy and will lose less over a couple of years less than a brand new 50k skoda kodiaq, although maybe not.

Would you consider the Alfa Giulia Veloce? Not sure if it's available here yet but it's on the uk website so I assume it can be bought here.

Second that - you seem to have plenty of budget (10k deposit and ~500 monthly is new car territory), a Giulia Veloce would suit you. Petrol, turbo, 280+ HP (If you really want, remaps take it easily to 330-350, no mechanical worries as the transmission is the same as the Quad, able to handle 510hp).

It would also be something quite exclusive on the road (the problem I have with BMWs, Audis etc. is that there are ten a penny, literally - more to that in my own "what the hell could I get" post :D ).

Saw one of these on the road a few weeks ago in limerick. Cork reg in blue.
Beautiful looking and sounded lovely taking off from the traffic lights.
However I would expect epic depreciation and possibly niggles during ownership. But you could buy on pcp with no expectation of ownership and hand it back.

Awd is a huge plus Imo if not a must have in a largish SUV. I drive a front wheel drive kuga for 5 weeks and the nose heavy traits were quite noticeable.

& I'm not a demanding driver to any extent.
