And the people who felt bullied on Facebook groups?

Need to take a spoon of cement and harden up. Seriously, if you’re crying bully because someone said you don’t deserve a council house then you shouldn’t really be on the Internet. People on those groups fight all the time. I even saw a boards member on one of them last night standing up to one of those groups last night. Doubt she’s crying bully today.

Or was there actual bullying? That’s all I’ve read about what she said

Did you read the JessIsFake Blog?

You obviously don't take bullying seriously - other people do - maybe Ramona can just 'take a spoon of cement' also? Live by the sword and all that??

No I didn’t read it was told about it. Is that where the bullying was? You said it was the Facebook pages.

I was just going to say the same, she should also 'take a spoon of cement' then, sure it's just a few opinions.

She went through a plethora of accounts on here over the years and said horrendous things to and about various users on them. As well as making up complete personas out of whole cloth in order to garner sympathy from the very people she was laughing up her sleeves at. In one iteration she was an anorexic woman in danger of losing her relationship because she was too thin to conceive. Any time someone smelled a rat she'd close her account, re-reg and then target the people who had called out inconsistencies in her previous stories.

    <snip>

It was also Facebook page apparently. I honestly don't know too much about it - I'm just sick off work today and nosing on Instagram etc.

Ah I see. This explains the hate a lot clearer. From what I was reading she was just harsh with her opinions.

I saw one post in the Mas group speaking about her dead mother and that was disgusting.

How are you linking all these accounts? The user I'm thinking of had two usernames but the same account going back years and years. Nothing unusual about that, loads of posters change usernames.

I'd be surprised if the admins missed multiple simultaneous accounts as you seem to be suggesting.

I've had one other account on here since 2008, and yes she did have other accounts on here before the two that have been mentioned here.
AFAIK, before the close account function was in place, mods didn't worry too much about someone starting a new account as long as it wasn't to avoid a site or forum ban (and if I remember correctly, bans she had from certain threads were held onto on her new accounts).

We're talking about 6 or 7 years ago so, do people seriously care about stuff that long ago?

People shout bully now at the drop of a hat just because they maybe losing an argument. The problem is that when a real bully comes along no one will take notice.

I cant believe the hate towards BU. They attempted to do some good by shining a light on the murky world of the blogger and what they were getting upto. I dont think it would have mattered who it was they were always going to get the hate because of what they were doing. This country doesnt like it when underhanded behaviours are exposed. Maybe its time we grew up and started tackling the problems in the country rather than looking to get mortally offended because someone doesnt agree with you.

    That's disgusting and hypothetical.

I've seen an instagram account go after her appearance - it just nullifies anything intelligent they have to say when they outed themselves as an asshole.

This past 24 hours has seen my first foray into instagram and looking at these people on twitter to try make sense of this as it turned out I was already familiar with some of those involved, unbeknownst to myself. I can't believe the widespread acceptance of posting nasty personal abuse in public on all sides of this debacle. People with families and public links to companies and brands trading vicious insults and making a show of themselves. If that's the kind of thing that went on in BU comments then I think it's very disappointing that the important valid criticism of unscrupulous practices has been tainted by association with this sort of conduct. But from what I can see now it should come as no surprise to those who follow this stuff that anyone involved, whether it be a blogger or BU, has a nasty track record as it seems to be more the norm rather than the exception in this particular circle.

Um I’ve just found a ‘boutique’ selling ‘Versace inspired dresses’ that are straight from aliexpress. What do I do?!?

    So is she 29 now?
21st birthday on Jessisfake, and is was going a few years before that?
This whole thing is starting to get a bit creepy. so many knew it was her, or it was easy to know?
People have been writing about her since at least 2010. She obviously did a few stupid things (one main one in particular) when she was a kid, and has not been let forget it.
On top of that, she obviously lost her mother when she was young which also would be tough for anyone, and everybody deals with that differently. She may have lacked a mothers guidance when she was making those mistakes, but I know nothing about her home life.
I am guessing she has been ridiculed about the catfish episode since then (as is a little apparent on the twitter account of the girl who she posed as). No doubt she was stupid, but I can kind of see where the anger might be coming from.
    Not excusing it.

But as has been mentioned already, that was a long time ago and should have zero bearing on this.
I can also see how BU took off and it would be very easy to run with it, especially when it is being encouraged by so many people. I still encourage it.

I am missing what she has done so wrong in recent times, as BU. Apart from the debatable hair accusation and the hat thing that I haven't seen.

An awful lot of people relishing in this. It is as said, very creepy. A lot about it is.

My issue with this whole debacle is that the accused's previous actions have been used as an excuse to hate everything about BU and shut the page down. I've watched JK's story and am not convinced that she is BU. And the hate and immaturity in that story has completely put me off the WMC.

Irrespective of whether she is BU or not, the hate being directed to her is completely out of proportion to her actions. While I didnt agree with everything she posted, BU was, in my opinion, fair in the majority of her postings and any vitriol was in the comments. She said she didnt delete comments, because that was one of the things she disliked about certain bloggers (deleting any negative feedback).

I liked the BU account. Whatever about who she might be personally I think it served an important purpose in showing the unrealistic images put out by certain bloggers. And I cant believe some of the high school type bitchy reactions that are all over insta and fb right now.

I don't, I was just clarifying. The other accounts were memorable enough for me to remember them, that's all.

Only not talking about you at all, just the people going back and tearing her apart based on ancient (in internet timescales) history.

I know very little about the blogging world and what people said or didn't say. Something I do know a thing or two about is how we can use others as vessels for our own negativity. What better vessel than the attractive woman promoting a lifestyle of luxury or the content mother showing off her beautiful children and husband. So out comes the "oh my God the state of her" and "he probably has affairs".
Then there is the "I wish I could look like that but I'll never be as thin/pretty/successful".

Is that whats happening in this thread I wonder? People who had a run in with the alleged BU over different platforms are now getting a chance to really let their anger out? A sense of satisfaction and saying "I knew it". All the while feeling good that they are an upstanding and moral human being who would never ever say the wrong thing, or have a controversial opinion, or struggle with serious stuff that they lose the run of themselves.

Or maybe they would never be the person in my first paragraph. The one who can't manage their own dark feelings enough so instead they find a location for them, and this gains traction and then wings, all the while escalating in to a past imploding over social media for all to pick at.

I have had no run ins with BU or her other multiple incarnations. I really can't get too worked up about any of it. I think there has been some great lessons to be learnt from the whole thing. People really need to get more internet savvy, they need to teach their kids to be internet savvy, nobody should be believing everything they see and read on the internet. One of the most surprising things about BU to me was the naivety of people when it came to worshipping bloggers who are basically random internet strangers, I've never been much of a blogger follower so seeing how people were taken in by social media marketing 101 was quite astonishing to me.

It must be rubbish for BU to know that the whole of Ireland pretty much knows your rather unsavoury opinions and name calling but it will blow over. These things always do. She encouraged the guessing of who she was, turned it into a game of sorts and the game backfired. Perhaps if she tries it again or someone else does it might be a good idea to stick to the facts and leave out the 'amusing' undertones. Not everyone finds them amusing.

I was a big fan of BU and would have regularly discussed the dramas with my sisters. To me it seemed as if they were doing a good job. People power and all that craic....

But back a few weeks ago there was a local drama on FB involving animals. I won't go into all the details but we couldn't believe it when BU got behind the campaign and more or less helped to spur on the lynchmob.
They gave details of the individual involved and called for them to be sacked from their postition. Now keep in mind that this person had done nothing wrong -apart from doing their job which seems to infuriate people around here. One whelp felt the rules, that all the rest of us follow, didn't apply to her and took to Facebook to start a hate campaign against this individual. Needless to say keyboard warriors the length and breadth of Ireland pounced.
BU didn't do an ounce of research before jumping on the bandwagon and posting this on their page. They had no consideration for this person or their family and they lost any respect i may have had for them previously.
    Sloppy, lazy work.

The animal stuff on BU made me very uncomfortable also, I mentioned it here a few times.

I do appreciate what was done in the early days of BU and hopefully someone else will set up a new improved version!

I thought you were joking at first. What exactly is the issue with a business sourcing goods on a foreign market and selling them locally at a mark-up?

They were claiming the items were Irish bespoke designs and creations and charging a premium for same. Turns out they were ordered in bulk from Ali express/other Chinese tat website. If I remember correctly one bridal head piece was €170 and on Ali express it was €7.50

I think that poster is asking about a different scenario - a few posts up!
