I’m ashamed to say I stayed up to watch it, knowing full well there’d be nothing good about it.

And I’m watching Smackdown tonight as well. Why do I keep doing this to myself....

How about not paying for the ticket to do that?
As long as people stay paying to see the product the WWE don't have to change anything.

To Be frank, those tickets will sell anyway.

I mean, sure, if you hate the overall product, don't pay for the ticket.

But it strikes me the crowds are willing to cheer Rollins, get behind others like Brawn and Owens in various ways. The crowd tend to only "rebel" when Reigns walks out.

That's why I say about a more targeted rebellion, to make it clear the issue is Reigns and what he represents. Cheer the **** out of the Rollins and Styles of this world, and then focus your criticisms where's its due.

    Roman will obv come out

Prob be a tournament of some kind to determine brocks opponent at Summerslam

Some good potential match ups here. Balor vs Brock, Rollins vs Brock, Mcintrye vs Brock

Jesus Vince doesn't half make Balor look like a tool still having him harp on about being the first Universal Champion.

Screwy finish next week leads to a triple threat where Bobby or Reigns will win the title by pinning each other. If that happens I hope Brock ****s off until they put him in the HoF.

Where was Strowman during the "we all want to face Brock segment" surely even though he is the MITB winner, the monster among men would want to face the Beast 1 on 1

Sasha and Bayley is a romance now?

Not the way I expected to find out that they rehired Eric Bischoff, but I’ll take it.

I'm presuming Sasha meant it platonically, but if this is WWE's attempt to embrace the LGBT community, then I am all for it. :pac:

Meanwhile, Roman vs Lashley next week. Guess it ends in a screwy finish and both get a title shot.

and roman pins lashley for the title and then brock can say romans never beaten him and we got ourselves our mania 35 main event

If you have a chance, rewatch that first segment where everyone has their turn coming out to say they should get a shot at Brock Lesnar.

Lashley comes out. Calm intro by Graves.
Drew comes out. Coachman gives an almost non intro.
Seth comes out. Standard Cole intro.
Elias comes out. They let him speak. That's fine.
    Finn Balor. Standard Cole intro.

    Reigns comes out.
Cole has a fúcking orgasm. "HERE COMES THE BIIIIG DOOOGGGG".

    it's so hilariously transparent.

I also noticed Cole's "Big Dog" was bigger than usual (That sounds dirty on second viewing). Give me Coach's shíte over that mindless husk, Cole, anyday.

Also, Heyman's promo was fúcking atrocious. I was struggling to put it into words what they were actually trying to achieve before I saw a thread with Bryan Alvarez's quote which summed it up perfectly; "They are paying 5 million a year to a guy they are trying to get go-away heat."

because we gotta get Roman cheered. it's very very simple.

when anything happens in Raw's main event picture, always ask yourself...how might Vince think that this will help his raging Roman boner?

It's genuinely a travesty that Rollins isn't the one getting the title shot

We saw how much the crowd wanted Brock to be stripped, imagine the reaction when the over guy beats him in the end

It felt close to Daniel Bryan territory 5 years ago, it's Rollins' time

I had held onto hope that they would come to their senses despite the reports and likely outcome, it's such a pity that Rollins will just fade away from being the guy now because it only lasts so long

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,063 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

Positives: They know how to book Ronda correctly

Negatives: The entire show seemed to build to a Reigns vs Lashley rematch. When Lashley won there was nothing on the line, this time the Summerslam main event is on the line... Reigns ain't losing!

Should probably be some sort of a screwy win though allowing a triple threat though

Brock has had go away heat for years with me anyway, he's been absolute poison. Don't really get how more fans are not pissed off about it and I've zero problem with Roman beating him if not for the fact they've botched their feud....repeatedly. Going to have to settle for awks Lashley.

why didnt they do the lesnar angle last week and have the match on sunday be the no 1 contenders match instead of doing another one

Bless your heart. You think they plan a week ahead?

I'd nearly guarantee that, at best, the plan up to the day of a PPV and not a second beyond that.

Also, this way they gave Bobby A win before they give Reigns THE win.

i wonder will brock end up retaining at summerslam in a triple threat with Reigns and Lashley and then the next night on Raw Braun Strowman will cash in and win

Braun cashing in at summerslam seems to obivious

I wonder will Reigns finally win at summerslam and we can all move on and accept it and wait for the title loss

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,949 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

I found it interesting that Brawn stressed he could cash it "any place".

Would love to see the tears from MmA fans if he cashed it in on Brock at a UFC event :P

Because they wanted you to doubt Roman and/or have sympathy for him by having him lose to Lashley.

It's all about trying to manufacture babyface reactions for Roman.

I still don't understand why they just don't have Roman just plough through everyone, including Lesnar, and see where the cards fall. This obsession with telling stories in order to try to manufacture reactions is ridiculous.

The pure MMA-only fans would rage hard for sure. As a big fan of both sports/sports entertainment, I’d be grinning like an eejit. It’d be such a surreal moment in many ways. :D

Then he goes on to beat Brock's record as longest reigning champion.

So Balor and Seth got the 2 biggest cheers of the night, yet they have the least over person pin Balor. Surprised Bobby didn't pin Seth.
And the Summerslam main event is likely to be someone fans are sick of due to being shoved down our throats against someone fans are sick of for never showing up.

Watching AoP, I was thinking that it's surprising Vince hasn't asked them to change their gear yet.

What is it with Kurt and his weird plans for Bayley and Sasha? Therapy, threatening to send one to Smackdown. Why not just have them fight each other?
And I was wondering if they are going the lesbian route or if Sasha meant it as friends. Either way it's just stupid. Though how could she resist the badonkadonk. Interesting start to a relationship as well with Sasha telling her only she wants to beat Bayley up. Clearly into some kinky stuff. Or would it be classed as domestic abuse?

Barely beating Reigns with the chair gave him some sorely needed edge. Although not sure where he actually goes now.

This is vince McMahon we are talking about. He changes his mind faster than Trump.

Also, Brock is taking the WWE for idiots. He's getting a better money/show rate than Marian Finucane or Joe Duffy.

I was on board when I was looking at it like an old school NWA travelling champion who only came into the territory once in a while, but now it's gone beyond a joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,545 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Have they just given up on Demon Balor then?

Funny enough I was reading this and saw your point and the comparison to Marian Finucane/Joe Duffy.
Brock Lesnar is not at the top of his game as an athlete. He is at the top of his game as a businessman, but that is where the praise ends for me. Lesnar is clear about the fact that a payday is the main thing he is after at the moment.

The bidding wars between Vince McMahon and Dana White is a prime example of why Lesnar is a better businessman than an athlete. However, I do not see what the fuss is about, other than his recognizable name.

    Rest can be read here
