The Peugeot 505 is such a beautiful car!

My dad owned a steel grey Peugeot 505 V6 in 1987.
To this day I still love the timeless pininfarina lines along the flanks leading to the tiny lip spoiler on the boot. To the best of my memory only 3 were sold in Ireland that year, no surprise really.
It had all the mod cons, air con, cd player and colour coded wing mirrors:D
I can still remember how the front seats felt like huge comfy arm chairs.

Beauty of a car and a fantastic raw guttural engine note.

I thought if you became a consultant you were unofficially expected to drive a luxury saloon or eco-friendly forward-thinking electric/hybrid. When you're that close to the upper echelons of posh society and the political establishment you're not supposed to be driving a 500hp petrol car

Relax there lads, it belonged to one of the midwives. She was strutting down the corridors smugly spinning an Alfa key on her finger.

Posted this on the 182 thread but said i’d throw it up here too..

    182 Hyundai i30 N which I spotted yesterday.

It had serious presence and some nice interesting touches like the triangular 3rd brake light.

Seriously nice sound off it and took off fairly quickly too.

Overall a far more interesting car than a GTI in my opinion.

I'm gonna sound like a fanboy here, but I promise I'm not trying to be. What actually makes these a far more interesting car than a GTI, other than the fact it's not a GTI? On paper, and in most of the reviews I've seen/read, they're practically identical in approach and execution.

Possibly just because there's not as many of them around? We all know the GTi is the original and a superb car but it's been around a long time now whereas the i30N is very knew and interesting for that reason.

Until you sit into one, a 1998 MK4 baseline golf would eclipse it for quality of materials and finish.

The numbers are impressive and it seriously pulls (i found it about as quick as my own) car but when you are paying that money you want it to be a nice place to sit.

Wow, it must be appalling inside so as my OH had a high spec 08 Polo when we started going out and it was a hideous place to spend any time in!

Ok maybe a 98 golf was a tad overrated :D The interior looks lovely and modern but to the touch the quality and finish let it down. Still a hoot of a car though.
