I'm still not finished that game. Currently losing life after life on the boss at the end of the 4th island. Tough as hell but very enjoyable.

    Exactly! Is he the
    spiky fish
that keeps inflating himself? God knows how many times he killed me :-(

That's the chap. I know I'm close to beating him. But just can't get over the line. Will try again tonight.

apologies in advance: i'm sure it's been asked before - what's the easiest way to be able to purchase from the Mexican e-shop?

Apart from living in Mexico :p

Anyone finished Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze? I just did today and got a
    medallion
. Is it worth going through all the levels to try and get the others? Also, when you are at the level selector you see an icon for the puzzle pieces, the Kong letters and a DK icon (top left hand corner). I'm cool with the puzzle pieces and the Kong letters but what is the DK icon? I can't seem to get it to light up? At the very end when you hit the roulette barrel I hit it when DK was showing for that level but it still did not light up after?

    Thanks,
    M

PS: Extremely difficult game in parts, had to do some levels an unreal amount of times!!
I love challenging games. I sold it on Wii u without completing it but got it for fathers day on the switch and its so much better being able to play in handheld everytime you feel like picking up.
Kudos for finishing it! I'll go back for the time trials, that kind of thing is what makes these games so damn good. Sweaty palms, rage quitting it's what it's all about. You just gotta embrace it. It's so rewarding in the end.

You can't use it anymore, I have been using the Norwegian store instead.

I just pre-ordered Octopath Traveler from Smyths (for just €45) - if I start playing the latest free demo now will my progress transfer to cart when I get my physical copy or is it only limited to digital?

Its probably just a save game you import to the full game.

    Something about sandwiches

Went to the eShop in my browser this morning. All grand until I click on games, and then the language changes to Russian!!

Please tell me this is a bug on their side, and I haven't been hacked!
I've never switched regions at all, to buy from other shops.

    It's their issue, not yours.

I use it a bit. I setup a mexican paypal account when I was visiting there a while back. I used the hotel I stayed in as the address. I added my AIB debit card to the paypal account and then added it on the mexican profile payment part.

Won't let me add an Irish card. Or maybe because it's already in use.

Maybe, I used this fine at the weekend but haven't got that card on any other accounts, I use revolut for them.

I know there was a Monster Hunter game released on it being released on Switch but it’s not MH World.

I heard the power of the machine means MH World isn’t possible. That said I haven’t been keeping up to date with Switch news that much.

Is there any chance of MH World on Switch?

I’d buy one in a heart beat if it had it.

No, Capcom reaffirmed this today saying it is not possible, but they will be making a game in the future specifically designed for the console.

Anyone play Darkest Dungeon on the Switch? How is it? Same experience as on PC? Want to get it at some stage and would prefer the Switch assuming the experience and the price differential isn't too extreme.

My son has been playing this on the Switch and says it's fantastic.
As for pricing, I suppose a quick look at the not only the difference betweem Steam vs Eshop but also between different eshop regions might be a good idea.
Also, the DLC is also available for the Switch edition as well.

A future specifically designed game could do it if it’s as good as MHW. Christ that game took me by surprise how good it was.

The writing is a little bit too small, haven't played in a few months but I have perfect eyesight and have to strain just a little too much to read it. If you have anything above fairly poor sight I'd say you're safe though. It was a very commonly reported problem on reddit so might have been patched since Ive played it

I found **** all difference between the PC and Switch versions otherwise.

Small writing on xenoblade chronicles x on Wii U is the reason I’m only about 30 hours into it. But of a pain as I think big RPG’s are really where handhelds can come into their own.

The Witcher 3 had the same issue with the small text at launch iirc, fixed easy enough with a patch.

    Yes. It is ridiculously good.

I don't know about on PC. I only play it in handheld mode as the writing is a bit too small and I sit a bit too far away from the TV.

You have touchscreen options when playing in handheld and that really makes a difference too.

Another big demonstration of the awesome portability of the Switch.

So I cracked out the Switch today to finish off Golf Story. As it boots up, my fingers catch off something along the back of the casing... What was once a small bump opposite the kickstand is now a full blown crack!

The bump developed after only a month of light use and it’s well documented online. I chose to ignore it. But now I’ve a 6 month old console (that only sees mild use), with a crack in its housing. Thankfully it’s still under warranty.

Anyone know what the tech department at Nintendo are like to deal with?

Why don't you just return it to the shop you bought it?

That should be the case, but the likes of Smyths were insisting that hardware issues were dealt with directly by the manufacturer, though I think they are on shaky ground with that one.
Nintendo have been pretty good with returns and repairs/replacements as far as I know, though people have reported losing data as a result.
