Watching my two big boycats line up for a play-fight. There are strict rules of engagement and protocol but the younger one has much to learn..

A few specks of rain; a real shower would make me very happy. Oppressive now .

Brought the kids to a thing called a Play Café yesterday, where the adults are meant to sit drinking something and chat while the chislers assert themselves in a massive play pen. The 3-year-old decided to go accumulating books. Stacked them all on top of each other. They collapsed and she said 'Ara fúck it!", and roared over to me laughing. This morning, clothes change number 3 by 10am on the 1-year-old, who can hardly string two words together. He waddles off towards the hall after breakfast number 3 picks up his water cup and decides to squeeze it over his latest shirt with a big smile as his mother runs towards him shouting "Oh Jesus" and the 1-year-old said back to her "Oh Jesus!" and himself and his sister had a great laugh in the hallway.

I think if the Comptroller and Auditor General, never mind our parents, were to assess the value society has received from all the money invested in our education they'd be unimpressed!

Also, Blackrock Market which is still one of the nicest places to walk around on a weekend in Dublin, with two guys playing jazz there today and the fresh sea air all over. Free face painting & popcorn for all kids, and so many lovely food stalls and the like. The old bookshop up the stairs with books going back centuries was heaven and I found a book that's been out of print since 1965 and that I've been looking for for years.

Not sure if TH or "oh **** this will be stressful", but we put down the holding deposit on a 3 bed semi to rent today. We are moving 4 hours drive north in just over a month...

My garden makes my happy. Can sit and enjoy the sun without having to do battle with any of the morons that generally appear in masses on Bank Holidays

I often think that, if the weather is good and you have a garden, there's nowhere better to be.

Happy today after a long chatty phone call from an old friend.

Three cheers (and more!) for friends with whom you can talk about anything at all, and even if you have opposite views on something, you can both feel you can put your point across and still make an effort to see where the other is coming from.

First and only time I had that cider was the day I got my leaving cert results, my bf and a few of his friends got a bottle (why just one? Who knows!) and went up the mountains, but none of us had a bottle opener, so we were trying to wedge the top under a signpost to get it open. We managed in the end, bless us :D

TH, memories I had forgotten about

My baby dog (4.5 years old) is incredibly needy, sometimes it’s annoying and the rest of the time it’s cute. Earlier on I saw him actually sneak out of my bedroom carrying one of my slippers. Thought it was cute so didn’t take it back. Just checked on them there before going to bed, and they’re both panned out in the same bed, with my two slippers surrounding the baby dog. Not chewing them, or ripping them, just cuddling them. My heart.

    +1 to this.

Friends you can confide in, knowing that whatever you chat about will remain confidential.

No matter how bad something seems, we will get a laugh at some stage, out of it.

They are there for me, and I am there for them.

Same as, there's nothing better than just walking out your door into a bit of peace and warmth.

My TH is the birds entertaining me in the garden. There seems to be a massive flock of starlings living between our garden and 2 of the neighbours and at around 5 every evening they start swarming (? I think that's what it's called) so they were whizzing around chirping like grasshoppers and I was sitting in my chair enjoying it.

My current happiness is courtesy of watermelon.

When they swarm like that it's called a murmuration I think so maybe you'd call it murmuring?

    I absolutely love watching starlings.
