Anyone manage to hear the pizza routine this morning...?

It was impressive in some ways that have nothing to do with entertainment... Other than that it was a new low for ireland.

the stages of ordering the take away..i heard it alright..just trying to run out the minutes, pure BS filler

is it just me or is their bantz, bantz that probably existed 5 years ago?
or is it cos they are old? there's something off about it

    wait a minute....am I now old??? ;)

Did you get the impression that routine took loads of effort?... Yer man Colm put in a Shakespearean performance at one point... Don't get me wrong it was still a crock of sh1te... But sh1te that took a lot of effort

Hell yeah. How many Irish radio presenters can say they've been used on a Batman movie soundtrack? Ain't that cool.

Have to say I love Peter Delvin on the radio, very knowledgeable and no bull**** conversation. Don’t miss Pat and his crap jokes and canned laughter one bit.

I'll carry on listening till end of week, but the show is doomed. And Lucy is only playing the cards she's dealt :)

It's as if Hayes is desperate to get his banter in at all costs

Luckily i don't have to listen, I'm sure if Guantanamo bay was still taking "customers" they'd be streaming the show as a torture..:)

Still enjoying PD as opposed to PC in the afternoon....loving that new Smiths, sorry Marr track....

In my dreams LQ would be on at breakfast..leave Morty and Dee alone and PD in the afternoon.....it's sounds just so fcuking easy to me....plus they'd be saving a fortune and getting their credibility back as a good "rock" station....

Tuned in. My God, the tunes were miles better!
It's like a totally different station to the morning show crap.

talking this morning about women walking around naked in gym locker rooms..tbh it came across as really seedy...i am far from a snowflake but seriously it was kind of disrespectful towards women..just poor poor taste..again like "Carry On" movies or something.

I wouldn't be surprised if they receive some complaints. it's like they are stuck in 1999

i dont usually drive to work but have done a couple of runs, so just catching it the odd morning as I only have a radio in the car - everything else seems to be talk or music that hurts my ears (thats my defence for tuning in)

Oh sweet Jebus when is this going to end? Just put Peter Devlin on from 7 to 10 and then again from 5pm to 7 😀then Greg/john Clarke for the rest of the day. Keep everybody else off the airwaves especially Colm. I’ve switched to today fm for morning show now .... marginally better then Colm and Lucy

Are women not allowed to be naked in a place where you are doing something (changing, showering) where you need to be naked to complete the task?
I'm kinda tempted to listen back...

Actually stopped following radio nova on twitter also as they kept tweeting sh*t about the morning show.

its complete nonsense and all of them Lucy and newsreader ("the less good their bodies are" comment) are in on it too..i think he thought of the punchline (wait for the end) and created the conversation to fit it, but tried to pass it off as natural

it was around 0730 after news

I'm sure even Cheney and Rumsfeld would shake their heads and proclaim 'That's going too far, lads' at the prospect of using the Colm & Lucy Show for such 'enhanced interrogation techniques' :-)

Peter Devlin, hmm, maybe just a bit too cool for a full-time mainstream show. As epic as it'd be, he'd probably be a bit too cool for your average Nova listener. Same with Pat James, Gavin Glass etc. That said though they do play great music. Also I don't know why but I've had a recurring dream/nightmare (delete as appropriate) in which Eoghan McDermott becomes Nova's weekday drive host.

Presenters on a "rock" station should have an air of coolness about them.....PD,PJ,GG,GG,..they've all worked hard at their hobby of loving music....the others can fcuk off.....the listeners need educating and those are the guys to do it....
Oh and thet EMcD fascination you have needs to stop....the station has enough egotistical gobsh1tes already....:)

Yep agree with this! After the complete watering down of Nova to the point of playing ‘Love shack ‘ on the radio we need to bring back the cool, get rid of the non music related chat and get that breakfast show off the air.

i reckon the only way that brekkie show will be pulled or format changed is if the sponsors kick up a fuss about it...which i doubt they will

i reckon sadly it is here to stay. Lucy would of pulled in a biggish deal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,984 ✭✭✭Max Headroom

Is it a sponsored show..?..I would have imagined the only thing keeping it on the air is Hayes impenetrable ego.....

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 20,369 Mod ✭✭✭✭RacoonQueen

Hayes and Kennedy would have brought people who like that sort of sh*te in (dunno what sort of people they are) - wonder how many the've gained -v- how many they've lost. See the Colm and Lucy twitter page is all for retweeting the praise they get about how great their show is.

Something I only thought of now.. Marty used to give us loads of little nuggets of stories about bands and rock stars... But these two offer us absolutely nothing. Also they were talking authoritively on conor mcgregor yesterday but then called dana (day na) white 'dah-na' like the uber Catholic singer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭guile4582

adverts would be sold between segments of the show. advertisers would request certain slots on certain shows etc as part of their package. Prizes, giveaways etc

like an earlier poster said, these two and specifically Lucy would bring a certain demographic/listener type (awaiting your jokes on this one)

advert spots, sponsorship spots and prizes would be sold on the (predicted) strength of the show by Nova sales peeps/ad agency

Since you listen religiously, doesn't that make you "the type" as well?

Hope those tins are going down well.
