    Here is the data.

    http://www.abortionreview.org/index.php/site/article/963/

    98% under Ground C.

    Not my stats, theirs.

Yes but where is the evidence that it is being abused?

will anyone now start a campaign for men to have the option to opt out of Fatherhood

I'm sure some neckbeard wearing a fedora* will talk a lot about this, and nothing will happen.

*or is it trlibys now? I forget.
Its an interesting subject none the less,

I'm sorry but your mistaken Men do not have a choice, If a women wants to take a man to court for not paying she can do so,
I'm all for Yes its great but I'm simply asking would the country support the right of Men to chose  ,

Yes and if the man decides to not bother paying, even if its court ordered, there are pretty much zero repercussions for him.
He can sail off into the sunset without looking back and nothing will happen.

I didn't vote as i just couldn't make up my mind. But something that has bothered me a little about this vote is the celebrations and tears of joy from the Yes side, and young children barely able to understand what abortion is brought along to cheer too. There is just something unseemly about it all. Whatever the reason, abortion is the snuffing out of a potential human life. I don't think it is something that should be cheered on.

I’m so sick of reading sh!te like this. You couldn’t decide how to vote because, judging by your post above, you didn’t understand what the referendum was really about. It’s about giving the wimmins the right to chose what happens with their own bodies. A large forward step in the rights of women in this country is what we are celebrating, not abortions.

Good for you. Other women dont feel the same and they had a right to celebrate the result.

My statement was in response to someone telling me I was a winner.

And who was in political power when it was added to the constitution?

The government of the day are the only ones capable of framing referenda and putting it to the people.

And they did it without outside influence? Bollocks... It was a push by the religious right in general and PLAC in particular in the wake of the Roe vs Wade ruling in the US and married couples being allowed access to contraception in this country.

If you dont feel like a winner then dont celebrate. But there are woman (and a lot of them) that feel like they have won something worthwhile and they celebrated as a result. Some people here seem to have a problem with this.

I see Ciara Sherlock is having a slight meltdown. She claims the referendum was rigged. Jesus told her it was a 53% No majority vote.

Many men have walked away and refused to pay. The mother of their child ends up giving up after going through court a number of times and he still refuses to pay.

BTW, there are already threads open about your question.

But still they can not legally opt out of parent hood like a women can, Do you think that is fair ?
If a man gets a women pregnant she can abort the baby , even if he doesn't want to,
If a man gets a women pregnant she keeps the baby and man doesn't want it he is legally obliged to look after that baby,.

Please just ignore the lunatics. Publicity is oxygen for these people. Don’t mention them, don’t post links to twitter etc. Their nonsense just muddies the waters and prevents proper debate.

There's a thread for the "men's choice" thing already:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057875996

yourdeadwright has found it and posted in it. There are plenty of like-minded posters there to tell him he is right and thank his posts. Don't need that topic here too.

As I said, there is another thread for that. This is muddied enough with people playing devils advocate without taking a completely unrelated issue like yours into account.

Not worried about the lunatics, what is worrying was the air time they were given.

Savita a horrible case died due to sepsis brought on as the medical staff did not do there job.

How did she get sepsis? Because she was miscarrying.

What would have prevented the sepsis? Terminating the pregnancy when she requested.

Savita a horrible case died due to sepsis brought on as the medical staff did not do there job.

What prevented her life from being saved? Her dying foetus that caused the sepsis ensured that the medical staff couldn't save her life due to the 8th. Life is precious once it is in the womb and fcuk it when it's not...ain't that right?

It comes across as whataboutery, especially when it has been pointed out that there is an active thread already devoted to the topic.

I've made my points to counter that in that thread already. That's why it's not needed here.

I can't believe we won the ref not 2 days ago and the meninists are already throwing a tantrum now because they can't have abortions. Try 35 years of campaigning for it, lads. We'll wait.
