I'm hoping the reaction of most Yes voters will be far more mature than this.

More mature than calling the women of Ireland "abortion demanders"? More mature than assuming us Irish were somehow ****ing ignorant and thick when it came to biology? More mature than having to spend so much effort correcting lies?
Have a good look at yourself gasún. .a good hard look at yourself

I think at this stage you have no idea of what you are trying to say. To describe you as deluded would be a kindness. So I will leave there with you and not engage further.

    Nice evasion there.

You only have to read back over this thread and others to see the countless lies spouted by the Yes side. Come back to us when you've done that like a good lad.

Lads, there are no winners in this referendum.

Bollox. There is a massive win for women right now - the constitution no longer states that their life and health is equal to that of a fertilised zygote.

That change applies right here, right now.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Will you stop with the "sticking it to the church" nonsense. A large number of No voters have zero time for the Catholic Church.
A large number of Yes voters attend mass regularly and will be there blessing themselves next Sunday.

You are making my very point. People, whether practising Catholics or otherwise, have voted as per their own conscience and not necessarily as per the wishes of the Church (which took a fairly clear view of how people should vote). This is not 'sticking it to the Church' as you have presumptuously claimed -- but is simply a statement of the willingness of the populace to vote on their own accord, even if they continue practising as Catholics.

Furthermore, as I have said, a vote in favour of repeal (if it passes) does not impose a view on anyone.

Not at all, considering your posting history of false information I have decided engaging with the likes of you is a waste of time. You served the YES campaign well even if it was unintential.

Yet not able to highlight any of them. What a surprise.

If only it were that black and white.
Lets see what legislation goes through the Dail.
And more to the point lets see what future Dails introduce.
The fate of unborn children will now be left in the hands of politicians many of whom would sell there mother and grandmother to get into power. Anyone who trusts Irish policians is a fool.

You were the person who thought people were so stupid they needed 999 to be called if a poster was one meter nearer to a polling booth than the law allowed. It’s not a win or loss for anyone it only starts now. The lads at the parish pump have to come up with the legislation that pleases enough people to get them elected next time. It’s going to be a lot of hard work and I don’t know if this coalition can handle it with their “here’s my laws if you don’t like them protest” attitude.

    It’s only starting now sadly

    Bullshít alert!

They aint a "rebellion" because they ain't the one's rebelling they were the incumbents and LOST, that's the YES side whos the rebels deciding enough is enough and that trying to export the "problem" and refusing to accept there's time's where it's necessary for the health of the existing life and that both cannot always be saved.

This is a problem that should only be ever solved by those involved directly not anyone else meddling when they've no buisness doing so and the vast majority of people here seemed to have agreed and judged the 8th to be wrong and fit for the bin.

Well my question is if people disagree with the church including it seems so many elderly people then why on earth are they still going to mass? Do the decent thing and stop attending mass if you feel so strongly about it.
But no they will be at mass next sunday blessing themselves and saying rosaries and the like.

We had people going apoplectic about a tweet from this account,

and defending their outrage saying 'imagine the reaction if that had come from the yes side'
    Indeed

I'd be happier of the yes vote winning, if I knew it was based on informed and weighed opinions, but I don't believe the youth on one side spared a second thought for the unborn

That’s your call but it’s important to note that every age bracket bar the +65s showed in favour of Repeal in the exit polls. Quite significantly actually. The lowest was 63 in favour of yes and it increases with each descending age bracket. Do you think the older groups were equally remiss?

If being like some of these people is what is required to get into heaven, count me out. The idea of heaven never appealed to me anyway. The idea of an eternity in heaven scares me more than death.

Because, maybe, they see their relationship with God and their religion as being significant over their relationship with members of the congregation or the kid fiddlers that run the upper echelons of the RCC? Don’t know, but I imagine folks can disassociate worshiping God from an endorsement of the failings of the Catholic Church. Either way. It’s not my place to sneer at peoples reasons for attending church. Seems like a personal matter in the utmost.

Looking at a local politicians page who was yes and the no's are going nuts on it. Calling people c**ts etc one woman quoting the bible and on about how she is a christian. Mention religion and no side she starts going on about Christianity is not a religion. The polls have really brought the looney side of the save the 8th out.

I wonder did steen, sherlock etc see they were going to loose and this was their reason for pulling out of the debates. Could this be the start of the end for them? Think there was talk of a possible split in the ranks. We can only hope.

Looking at Sky and some other pages. Fierce hysteria altogether. Most peculiar post so far was “from the moment of conception, there is a heartbeat” etc.

I see a lot of people telling others to not celebrate. Not quite sure how you're supposed to quell emotions at a time like this, so I'd just do what you feel, I would say. It's been a grim battle.

I'll be ignoring the harsh words from the No supporters tomorrow. They're hurting. I'd be lying if I didn't see good people on their side carrying pain from their lives too and I can see some of their points being understandable. But as far as certain organisations and institutes go, I want to say this...

We're coming for our schools next.
