I'm guessing you mean Golf Story?

Anyway, if you enjoyed Mario Golf, you'll like it. I'd find it very hard to recommend outside that.

That is indeed what I meant, damn auto correct .

I find Golf Story to be good but not as good as everybody else seemed to think it was. Characters are funny in it. Just got bored with it after awhile.

, what would be the chances of the first xenoblade chronicles x coming to switch?

This is a possibility apparently,I'd love it!

    Any opinions on Shantae?

Just finished Shovel Knight and looking for next game for short bursts on the train

N64 Mini I could happily skip. A Mini Gamecube though.... That would be tempting.

I wouldn't mind seeing an N64 Mini, but the joystick has to be fixed.

I'd be looking forward more to a GC Mini, however.

I like Shantae but some of the fan service may make uncomfortable train playing.

Gameseek, the £198 Switch guys, have gone into liquidation in the UK with loads of customers owed money.

The young fella had minor surgery last Friday, and he's in a fair bit of pain. So I threw on Mario Kart, and put on the steering assist for him, to try take his mind away from the pain. I think it worked... he's asleep now with a pair of Joy Cons in his hands. :D

(Don't mean to turn this into "Dad's Club" or anything, but thought this was a nice story.)

You might as well go for dad of the year and get him a new game.... Kirby or Donkey Kong?

I was your young lad a couple of months ago. The Switch was a dream for bedridden gaming to escape for a while.

    Pre-purchasing (usually all) DLC before it's released - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season_pass_(video_gaming)

A way for games companies to get your money for products they haven't even made yet and may release in the future though you don't know what the content will be.

You get a heavy discount on all the dlc when compared to buying them one by one.

Picked up Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (digital) from Smyths UK for €45 and since I dont have a WiiU and I hadnt played DK games since possibly the Gameboy era, I have to say WOW!

Im not a massive platformer but I do like a game where I can just chill out and pick up for a while when I need a break from everything and thats when my Switch shines most for me.

For the price, DK is a fantastic looking game and very challenging too. Ive only played about 4-5 levels last night but I am enjoying it very much; both visually and design wise. It looks superb in hand held mode and also great when docked.

For me, my Switch, hasnt failed to continually impress me and Im looking forward to the online piece when they finally release it. So far Ive had very little online with the Switch other than Mario Kart and ARMS

I must pick up Splatoon2 as well as that seems to be the best online shooter.

My only downside on the switch, other than the slightly weak build quality on the joy cons, is that its way too easy to buy games from the comfort of bed or when kicking back in the evening :D:D

I think Ive about 29 bought so far since Christmas which doesnt sound much, but for a console I had only bought as a supplementary platform for my other consoles, I seem to be buying pretty regularly and all digitally.

Honestly, even as a Wii U owner, I am glad they are choosing to do re-releases of Wii U titles on the Switch.

I missed both DK: Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors on Wii U and having the option to buy these awesome games on Switch is most welcome.

(Think the prices could be lowered just a bit, mind you)

I'd have to agree, I think the price for Switch remasters is a little on the high side alright, given the prices remasters have gotten on other formats, but then they can vary too.
Good to see, for example, Dark Souls priced the same across all formats.
Sad that it is delayed though!

Pro controller ordered finally, the joy cons in the holder are just too finicky for me, keep missing the triggers!

On the flip side, this is such a fun console. Xbox One X is gathering dust, PS4 too to an extent but it has Pro Evo option files. The 3ds is being neglected too :( Is it possible to feel guilty for neglecting a console/consoles?!

I picked up a grey Switch last weekend. It's quality, I think it's a brilliant console for adult gamers or people who may be bored of gaming. I know I'm mostly preaching to the converted here but there may be a few people reading who are considering buying the Switch.

Apart from a few Pro Evo sessions and GTA 5, I haven't really played games properly in over 10 years! A mate of mine bought a PS4 last year and never finds time to play it (I did too but sold mine!). We just never find time to sit down in front of a tv. A lot of us played Clash Royale on mobile and the lads who have PS4s got more gametime from Clash Royale than any PS4 game!

Rocket League is fantastic. Like Clash Royale, it's easy to pick up and play for 5 minutes but that can easily turn into an hour, it's competitive, it's frantic and just fun gameplay. Unlike Clash Royale, there's no drive for additional paid content and there's a level playing field, which makes it all the better. Obviously very different games though!

The Switch isn't a graphical powerhouse, but that doesn't matter. The graphics are still pretty good. Gameplay is the most important thing and there are some phenomenal games on it. There are games I played as a kid that are still enjoyable to this day because the gameplay was fun, like Streets of Rage!

The grey version looks like a tablet with a unique control interface. It looks acceptable for an adult to play it. I know some people will disagree, but I think some handhelds had an image problem.

The Switch taps into nostalgia for adult gamers, partly because of the use of cartridges (they're tiny!) and of course because of the fantastic Nintendo first party games like Mario and Donkey Kong. I weighed up getting physical cartridges against digital downloads and went for the physical because I'll trade in the likes of Super Mario Odyssey once I've completed it, or Rocket League if the online community moves on.

I'm hoping that by the time I get Mario Kart, which could be months and months from now, that there will still be decent numbers playing online!

I have a feeling that Mario Kart Dx is going to keep an online presence for the lifespan of the system, or at least until the game is superseded by it's successor, though that's away in the future.
So you'll have plenty of time to play with people online.

I think your next big purchase should be a 128Gb memory card, because the eshop is packed full of inexpensive and fun experiences but will gradually fill the available memory.

On the topic of the small cart sizes, I had a notion as to why we end up with significant downloads.
Could it be that the sad fact of large updates to most modern games on day one, and in the months that follow, it might be that using large chunks of solid state memory on the cart is pointless, as it is replaced with said update almost immediately?
It doesn't account for every circumstance where space is saved by forcing a download, but it might account for many situations, and is understandable.
I can still remember the nightmare of popping Gran Turismo 5 into the PS3 drive and then being treated to hours of waiting as the pitiful Sony online service of the time downloaded as if on dial-up many gigs of data.

This is pretty standard. No digital save is guaranteed.

It is weird, that a game as small as Megaman Legacy 1+2 Collection wasn't just slotted onto the cart....
Like, while I am not in full possession of the facts behind the decision, it's still bizarre.

I've heard it's not a limitation on size, but from Nintendo - basically, each cart can only have one game. This is two games (well, it's really 10 but semantics) - If Capcom were to release it as one Legacy Collection with all games, a total physical release would have been possible. As it stands, they went with two releases, so they would have had to have 2 carts, and I imagine these games barely take up a gig, and that's with the extra art etc.
