You have choices. Why don't you switch over to Ros na Rún down there in TG4 Player land.

I thought JC know it was a goat because they did a show on top gear of an old land rover using its front winch to pull up the side of a bridge.
I thing there were goats there like this.

I was full sure it was a deer too! Too bad the last guy didn't set the safety net sooner. I wonder whether he would have gambled the last question if the drop hadn't been so drastic.

Really enjoyable show tonight and overall a great week.
It shows that there are some people who really haven't a clue out there, lifelines need to be used and used properly.
It shows JC is certainly the right man for the job.
It shows there is a strong demand for the show as per ratings.

It shows that threads like this can be great fun also....until the new season of WWTBAM, slán !!

Maybe they need to up the amount and call it
Who wants to be a double millioniear.

20 years ago a million was a lot more than now and the contestants are gambling sometimes.

Still good fun in this format though. :)

Have to say I am enjoying Jeremy Clarkson as presenter. He is no Chris Tarrant but I think he is doing well. The new lifeline, sak the host and the ability to set you own safety net are working quiete well. I do miss the handing over of the cheque ala "But we don't want to give you that!

Hate to quote myself but I just picked up on my own freudian slip. I did mean ask the host not sak the host.

    No its not?

Watching this show got me wondering - when they pause on a question to take an ad break, how long do they wait in studio?

Think that's a mistake... why are they all so afraid to set the net?

It looked like they didn't understand it properly at times.
They seem to get carried away if they've a load of lifelines left, ignoring the fact that they could lose them all on that question & then still need to answer another to reach the safety net on the next or whenever it's set

Think that guy from Liverpool gambled massively last night on the Elvis question

I did notice that and thought about posting about it but thought you would have had it fixed before I did or were only joking and meant to say that so I never bothered.

Why not go further still and call it Who wants to be a Billionaire. Its very easy to spend a million in this world. I know I would have no problem spending it all.

No idea. As long as the add I would assume maybe go for a toilet break or have a quick chat.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

It might have made more sense if they let them set the net after answering the last question.

I knew that answer before the JC had fully read out the question. But if you didn't know music, or that genre, you would be lost. I was even surprised at the audience result being so close, but delighted he got it.

Well, I've finally managed to work my way through the week's recordings of this - and overall it's a thumbs up from me.

Delighted to see it back (I've been binging on whole evenings of it on one of the oldies channels lately, real blast from the past stuff) - and despite my initial scepticism, Jeremy Clarkson really settled into the host role and did a fine job.

Two things grated for me - his lame jokes EVERY SINGLE TIME about the upcoming ad break, and that thing about "do you have someone from our production team there with you" and "I'm not wearing any earpiece and have no contact with anyone" (ok, that's three things) - did they have to repeat those EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Thought the setting of the safety net was a really clever gimmick - you'd have to wonder if they actually explained it properly to the contestants, or did they just lose the run of themselves in the excitement of the whole thing? Some of the decsions were just mad!

Overall I was a bit shocked at the standard of contestants (although I stand by the original line of they're only easy if you know the answer) - either people have got a lot more reckless, or a lot less knowledgeable!

Anyway, great to see it back again, and I'd certainly vote for a full series with JC as host.

Well in this day and age they do really, there are enough saddos on twitter who'll kick up a fuss if they don't

You can even hear the disdain in Clarkson's voice when he does it

It's coming back next year - and so are Clarky and the Ask The Host lifeline.

really not sure if they should do away with the 'phone a friend' totally these days and just have:

    '50/50'
    'Ask the Audience'
    and 'Ask the Host' (Clarkeson)

because even if clarkeson says "can you confirm a security guy from ITV is there to make sure you are not googling the answer" cuts it really.

The early questions are too easy. The whole thing is a tired old formula.

Who is watching the new series? The original money tree graphics are back which is great.

The female contestant is doing really well here. She is expected to win big money tonight.
