Based on one more guess, and under the assumption that New Zealand has an island up north I'm unaware of, I'm going to go left-field with a guess of Lesotho?

    No

    I'd guess Chile.

    I'd guess Chile.

Uruguay would be before Chile in South America.

Uruguay is way north of the southern tip of Chile.

    "Furthest from the equator"

I think you need to read the question again

The question is, which country's most northerly point is furthest from the equator. The north of Chile is much closer to the equator than Uruguay

Not unique is that is the answer because the same would be for France and Luxembourg just off the top of my head

Just as well I said probably. That was the answer I was looking for.

Should have qualified it by saying islands, would that have made it unique?
