    1. Petrichor? But that's usually as soon as it starts to rain.

Afraid not. That usually smells nice I think

I think I now owe two.

    1. Sometimes after a very heavy thunderstorm you can smell a substance that smells similar to chlorine in the air. What is this substance?

    2. What two characters in the Simpsons win the state lottery (at different times)

Kent Brockman, Lenny, Homer. 3, no?

Marge would have won only for the damned dog ;)

    Of course you did.

I thought it was a two part question.

And we could both be wrong. ;)

Ah no, I can't be doing this Simpson stuff, no idea what they are on about.

And anyway it was two questions....

Anyway if Srameen says its ozone I reckon I am right, so I'll throw in a question...

What is the difference between raster and vector.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,551 ✭✭✭Rubecula

a raster is a slice of bacon and a vector is a car..... :D

    Ozone?

Absolutely! There's enough energy supplied to bond an oxygen atom to an oxygen molecule and we get our O3.
You can also come across it sometimes when using a photocopying machine

Raster works on points, Vector works on lines.

Or at least it does in my work

    Well played!

Dan Castellaneta (voice of Homer) made an appearance in an episode called “Citizen Joe”, in which popular sci-fi series?

it is an active protection used mainly on marine structures. It is a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. A simple method of protection connects the metal to be protected to a more easily corroded "sacrificial metal" to act as the anodes.

A lot more detail than I was expecting. I've a feeling you know more about it than me :D

It’s a star, and was once considered the biggest/brightest known to man?

I guess from the name that it's the Dog Star, Sirius? Would be thinking it was the brightest known rather than largest.
