Thought I bricked mine last night, I plugged into the charger went back to it later and it was unresponsive, just a white LED flashing. Wouldn't boot into recovery mode nothing, left it overnight plugged it into another charger and it came on. Phew! Everything online I read said flashing white LED meant it was bricked

I had the Mi 5S, absolutely loved it, MIUI was great. I broke the screen, figured it'd be easiest to buy a new phone, got the Mi A1. Was contemplating getting the 5x as I loved the MIUI, but the A1 is so great. I can't really fault it for anything. So easy to use. I got mine from eglobal central. A great price and delivered within the week.

Can you confirm if this has play store and google apps preloaded and if it has band 20 which is 4g I think,

    Just checked.

Google play services used 2% of battery since my last full charge.

10% of mine. Have only just noticed it the last couple of days, so have rebooted and will see if it's any better tomorrow.

I have purchased this from eGlobal Central, I presume this has the network bands required to work here
Xiaomi Mi A1 64gb Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED - Gold

    Code: CMOBXIM00145
It seems to have band 20 for 4g but will it work on all 3g networks.

    It it the global version?

So far specs don't seem to have it listed as having B20/800 which would be beneficial for 4g outside of urban areas if needed.

They might release it in a global version?

Where is the cheapest site where I can buy this phone?

Loads of links in the thread. Buy from an EU warehouse to make sure you don't get stung for customs

Anyone having an issue with the SD card occasionally ejecting and wiping out playlists etc? Has happened a few times, for no apparent reason.

Yes I've noticed occasionally the little SD card symbol popping up telling me it's ejected. Goes away after a few seconds. Thought it might be my card. Haven't noticed it wiping anything though.

Happens periodically and sure it's not the card or how it's mounted, and wipes VLC playlists.

You using the card as portable or internal storage?

This is basically a NEXUS phone? Im thinking of buying one on Amazon UK since I don't trust AliExpress.

Basically yes, made by xiaomi. Have mine 2 weeks and haven't had an issue with it. Even got the April security update.

    Portable.

    Portable.

Sorry my first reply was totally irrelevant there as you have it set up as portable as well! Wasn't paying proper attention! I had mine set up as 'Internal' initially, but since I changed it I haven't really had any issues.

EDIT: Actually I see you edited your reply after I started replying...so I guess technically my first reply was relevant! Too many edits haha

Its going to cost over €50 more to buy this on Amazon UK so I think I'm going to take the plunge and buy from Aliexpress. Choosing DHL delivery is suppose to guarantee me no customs and I'll receive it within 8 days. How accurate is the delivery time ? Any other things I would note before ordering from this site? I'm planning to use a Revolut card as payment.

They also mention they open box to do a quality control check and I should message them to notify if I prefer not to avail of this and just receive factory sealed unit. What do you recommend?

Even amazon Spain seems to be more expensive.

Let them do QC, it will save allot of hassle on odd chance you get a dud/faulty device shipped to you without them doing it.

I bought 3 phones from that seller over the last few months.

The DHL option does guarantee no customs

The delivery time (in my experience) was pretty much as stated give or take a day

The opening of the box isn't related to the MIA1 as it comes with stock android and all google apps pre installed.

"Please l e- mail us a comment if you want a sealed box. otherwise it will unlock the box to do "Quality Control" and flash the multi-language ROM into the Chinese version. the manufacturer's original carton is sealed. it's only with English and without "Play Store".

The phones I ordered all came sealed without needing to message them

Also used a revolut card with no issues

Check your Windows device manager for correct drivers for the device.

You may need to download them and update.
