Also doesn't have band 20 according to kimovil
Correct,I pre ordered from Amazon de,and double checked

Why then did you quote me?

Its not obvious if you're a actually trying to engage with me or not?

Strange , usually when that happens a notification pop up appears saying charging USB devices" or something similar which you press to change it. No pop ups at all?

    What Powerbank do you have?

Is the C port on the brick for charging the powerbank, or is there a micro usb port for that as well?

I cannot decide between these two:
    https://www.honorbuy.com/1188-xiaomi-mi-a1-smartphone-black.html

    https://www.honorbuy.com/1103-xiaomi-redmi-note-4-international-version-64gb-black.html

Will be used for normal stuff, calls, email, pics, vids etc.

    Any advice?

Is there an advanatge to just Android, hadn't noticed this before, any more recent xiaomi with just Android, I have a redmi note 2 prime. Need a new one at this stage,

I bought my wife the redmi note 4 last year she loves it. It runs MIUI it has double tap to wake and a working FM radio app.

My son has the MI A1 stock android monthly updates does not have double tap to wake or an app for FM radio although there is a messy work around. bought have same processor so its down to what interests you most.

At the risk of seeming totally stupid, what's the issue wit MIUI? Is it a different OS to Android?

Yes, it's xiaomi own operating system, to me, it's like having two operating systems, I have Google play store and also the mi play store, sometimes when I click a link from a website to download an app, it generally directs me to its own store, the same with browsing, I will be directed to it's own browser site, it also has mi cloud storage, so I have two storage options i.e google and mi, am well used to it at this stage, when I purchased this about 2.5 years ago, I had to load the google apps to it, took quite a bit of Google searches to achieve this, am going to purchase the mi A 1, think stock Android is the way to go next time, if only to compare the two.

Do a bit of research here, read back through this thread and the note 4 and 4x, most of these come preloaded with google apps so no messing around trying to upload stuff, make sure you buy the one with band 20 for 4g here in Ireland, I think it's sold as the international option, and buy from a EU Warehouse to avoid getting caught with customs.

I had the Mi 5S, absolutely loved it, MIUI was great. I broke the screen, figured it'd be easiest to buy a new phone, got the Mi A1. Was contemplating getting the 5x as I loved the MIUI, but the A1 is so great. I can't really fault it for anything. So easy to use. I got mine from eglobal central. A great price and delivered within the week. https://www.eglobalcentral.eu/xiaomi-mi-a1-64gb-dual-sim-sim-free-unlocked-gold.html
