I imagine Horans, O'Connors and Nolan's and possibly KellOil and Fairies Cross will be most hurt by it as they share similar traffic routes. They are all less than 1km from this station so you'd really wonder what market research Corrib Oil were working off to decide this was worthwhile. Saying that, petrol retailers make minimum margins from fuel. Their profits are mainly from food and beverages so this is where they could clean up if they offer a superior experience.

It does seem a bit of a strange one. There service stations really convenient to the Tralee Bypass (apart from one on the Castlemaine Rd beside Gally's) and yet they give planning to one in an area that's already well served.

Sorry just see that typo now it should read 'There are no service stations convenient to Tralee By pass...

Anyone know what the situation with parking outside Carry Out off-licence near Argos is? They have a sign hanging on a post stating that the parking spot outside the off-licence was only for customers and that clamping was in operation. I noticed a few days ago when it was busy enough, there was a free space directly outside the off-licence but most cars drove by. Do they have a right to reserve that space? There is no markings on the ground to define a parking spot!

Any good place in Tralee to get men's scarves/cravattes? Silk/viscose, not wool/acril.

I'd be thinking they are chancing their arm!

They always put that sign up of there’s any matches on! I can’t see how they can legally do it as they don’t own the area, let alone the unit. They rent off the Horan centre, so if anyone can enforce that, it’s them! Totally chancing their arm!

I’d say Ryles is your best bet.

What’s happening to Heatons in the town, all closed down and being renovated. Is it just a renovation or are they gone for good?

Open today. Staff falling over each other. Same set up as the store in Limerick that re-branded last year.

I didn't realise it would be open so quickly! It looked smart from what I could see during the week with the new signage etc. Hopefully it will be an improvement on Heaton's, I never liked that shop.

Pretty much the same tat so I don't think it's either an improvement or disimprovement.

    Notice from Kerry county council:

Kerry County Council will commence essential drainage works in the Brandon Car Park, Tralee on Monday 30th April 2018.

The works are scheduled to be completed in about two weeks.

A limited number of parking spaces will be unavailable during this period but disruption will be kept to a minimum.

It's only taken them about 10 years

Ah sure it’s only one of the main carparks in town, no rush, 😂

I was reading in the Kerry’s eye that the old Denny’s site is very delayed with the works, although they have demolished it now, but it was due to be completed ages ago. They also haven’t decided on what to do with the land! I would have thought that by now they would have at least decided on what it will be turned into!

Kerry Group don't do free gifts. They probably realisesd it was more expensive to demolish safely than "gift" it to the town.

Apparently a lot of waste from the factory had to be removed before work began, which was one of the reasons for the delay. I walked by last week & the odour/dust etc from the demolition was strong, I had to cover my nose/mouth with scarf as it was catching in my throat.

There was a great turnout in the Square this evening for Emma MhicMathuna. Apparently there was about 400 people there. I would have loved to have been able to go.

Depends on where in town exactly you need to park. Plenty of free parking within a 5 minute walk to town centre. If not then the train station probably for paid parking. Apcoaconnect.ie for the rates.

It has, but I am pretty sure it was a different owner & then taken over by the current owner.
Sad to see a business close though.
