I know this is probably a stupid question, but can someone tell me how to sync my android contacts onto Redmi 3S!? Got it yesterday and it upgrade to Miui 8. Google Play store refusing to install Google Contacts telling me not compatible. It's probably obvious but no amount of searching has given me an answer yet!

Yea I did, don't notice any difference.

... and with that the Redmi note 3 is dead...

Stopped charging yesterday and by the feel of the cable getting warm it's a battery problem.
F*&%ing thing was just 5 months old.

Amazon seller doesn't sell them anymore and wants to ring me (no paper tail for amazon...) more than just provide the return address for me to send it too.

    Grrr...

Anyone have to replace screen on one of these. My glass is cracked but lcd part perfect still. Any shop in Dublin fix it or will it be a diy job

I bought one of these in December and I have a friend wanting one now. Is this still a good option at the price range or what should I recommend?

    Also best place to order?

    Thanks in advance.

Redmi Note 4X Global Version with B20 support might be a better option.

As where to buy, it is another question since Top One on aliexpress is gone and Hong Goldway no longer has EU shipping to avoid VAT!

You could try MiShop.ie or The Solution Shop which has EU VAT free shipping, but both doesn't have that model yet!

Haven't used either myself, the solution shop has been prompting itself on reddit and is a recommend store on the xiaomi wiki!

    Battery starting to degrade!

Lucky to get over 3 hours of SOT, these days.

Ordered a replacement battery last night, could have probably got it cheaper, but that link had better reviews of the product.

Looks easy enough to replace, has anyone already achieved it.

Attaching cables and removing the glue, could be the tricky part.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

LCD Displays can be got for approx €30, maybe cheaper versions available, don't forget to get an adhesive layer.

Mine was bought in July 2016, Top One aliexpress store (since went out of business that Christmas).

Phone still working and charging. Even if I had somewhere to send it back, it would probably cost more to ship it than the battery.

I may have panicked when it drained so fast the other day, but not a good sign anyway. When others are reporting greater SOT from there devices.

Brand of battery has got positive reviews on reddit.

Yep, looks to be straight forward change out the old battery and in with the new and if people are saying that brand is good then you should do it anyway, sure the battery has probably lost a fair chunk of it capacity at this stage anyway.

Let us know how you get on, from the video its looks to be an easy fix.

Parcel ordered from aliexpress on the Feb. 06 2018, arrived this morning.

I did pay € 2,16 extra, so it was not using free shipping.

@oleras Successfully replaced the battery without bricking the device.

Couldn't get a grip on the glue strips, so had to pry the old battery out. The old battery seems soft and pliable. If the new battery turns out to be a dud, I doubt it would be safe to put back the old battery.

Also got this cable for € 2,33 in a bundle deal.

Total price for order including delivery €14,04.

Attaching the FP sensor cable was tricky, also prying open the device, I needed to use my nails (tools didn't work), lucky hadn't cut them recently.

Edit: - It is too early for accurate battery life/SOT, but based on today's usage, I am already see an improvement in them.

10 Hours of use -- 2h 21m SOT -- 40% Drop in battery (~60% left). High Data usage.
Estimate SOT based on the above is approx 5h 30m or more.
Improvement from barely managing 4 Hours SOT!

Have to go through a few charge cycles to get accurate AccuBattery stats.

Can anyone recommend a car phone holder? Asking on behalf of my brother (I don't have a car nor a Note 3!). He drives a Mazda 3 if that's required information. Cheers.

Replaced my battery at the end of February and is working well for me.

See this post for the battery I got,
it is easy enough to replace,
just be careful of fingerprint cable when opening the device.

Getting the glue strips out could be the difficult part, I had to pry my old battery out.

Hope it is just the battery giving you problems and not the charging port as well.

I have gotten 1 day 17 hours with 15% remaining in the past.

Usually get a days use out of the device with 40% to 50% remaining.

Edit: - Also hoping to buy RN5 [WHYRED][Global] this summer.

[XDA] Treble Kenzo on 22nd July 2018, 19:21

Early reports are it is buggy and not stable yet.

Even with my Kenzo been used as a backup device, I have not felt comfortable enough yet to put it to the test. Maybe when there is a stable P GSI, if ever?

    Has anyone tried it out?

    [XDA][AOSP 9.0] [EXPERIMENTAL] [2018-08-22] Phh-Treble

For flashing on Kenzo, follow the instructions starting with this post.

I used this gapps provide by razorloves. <<<< Link found on Telegram.

Successfully installed on my device today, it is bare-bones and things like Bluetooth are not working. Probably not suitable as a daily driver, but my device is now just a backup device.

If you want to use TiBu, you will probably need to enable on screen navbar to access menu in TiBu, to select your sdcard backups.

    Use this edit: -

    Add this to /vendor/build.prop
    qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

    Edit 24th: -

New XDA guide with all patches etc linked in one place: -

[Treble] Android Pie 9.0 on Kenzo. [SnapDragon]

Pixel Experience 9.0 Pie On Redmi Note 3 || How To Flash || First Impressions!

As an alternative to previous post, if you don't want to experiment with treble.

Again things like Bluetooth are not working, probably not recommended as a daily driver.

Haven't tried this yet, as currently using the version from previous post.
