You cannot infer a state of mind from someone's actions. It's possible to consent to an act, but be overcome immediately with regret afterwards. Plenty of people do, and they've only had sex with one person.

The presence of alcohol means that wild swings into hysterical crying or unreasonable anger are far more likely than if you're sober.

Not quite. He's issued "pre-action libel correspondence", which I'd take to be a 'retract those remarks or we'll sue'. Although I could be well off the mark.

Me personally? Well no...I have felt neither the need to be a gangbanger nor a gangbangee.....

That's not to say it doesn't happen though. My wife was at a hen party recently where one of the (married) bridesmaids disappeared fairly early on in the evening. Turned out later (by her own admission) she went to have her 'nose powdered' and her 'fancies tickled' by 4 random lads in a different hotel

And this is a woman who's married with kids, if you saw her at the school pickup you wouldn't look at her twice.

Now I don't know how common this is but it does happen.

Well, the chap that dropped her home said he got the impression she felt rejected and regretted doing what she did. She was clearly nicked at some point and that could have upset her if true. What girl wouldn't be mortified at something like that happening to them.

But the crucial point for me is that the girl that heard the moaning and took a look into the room, seen nothing to suggest she wasn't consenting. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with the verdict if they are arguing their opinion based on the evidence but there really doesn't seem to be anything to suggest the woman here was raped and to be quite honest, her evidence came across like she wasn't being honest. Much of her answers seemed like rehearsed things she had read. It was almost like she wanted to wanted to make a point all the time about how it feels when girls are raped and have to give evidence but yet she was supposed to be the one that was raped.

One of the lawyers put that to her and it she got really angry but it was only a matter of time before one of them did given they way she was talking.

Yeah but the content of that tweet would appear, well....I'm not going to repeat it obviously if there are legal proceedings, but I think Jackson's lawyers could have a tough time making anything sticking in court having seen the tweet myself.

Hearing about the senator getting sued for his words gave me a thought. Does this mean the legal system has decided the defendant lied under oath, and therefore could take actions to prosecute? If not, surely it downgrades their confidence in the decision made?
