Could perhaps scrub heavy rain from that post and put in snow instead.
    Especially for Monday.

    Don't start :o

I am the God of winter and I bring you....

Seriously though it looks like heavy snow for Northern Ireland on Monday. Whatever about the rest of the country??
Looks like a one day wonder. Hopefully.

Just in from training. A few almighty showers on a boggy pitch was not fun

Tomorrow and Monday look bad here

Can people please keep criticism of people who are short of fodder to themselves. I'm not sure if people realise that during 2013 lots of families were changed forever because people could not see light at the end of the tunnel. Bragging about having enough feed may not be what a family member would want to read about.

    I wouldn't be 100% sure of that.
It is really coming in from the SW.

Still a few days away though.

Have to say stocking rates may have to be assessed in the future as weather seems to be getting worse. Ok for silage bit slurry is an ongoing problem. Wouldn't like to deal with both

Whatever about stocking rates I think calving dates might be just as important. In NZ they try and have calving start date 55 days before "magic day". Where as here we are anything from 60 to 90. I think this is where pressure comes on the system feed wise. Situation not helped by co~ops pushing for early milk either

Weather is weather the boss man who is around a long time knows a thing or two and the spring turnout has been the same for the sixty plus years he has been farming but Teagasc seem to push it

Fair point, NZ they tend to grow more over the winter also, so higher AFC at turnout. One difference in favour of the longer days between calving start and magic day here could be our 6wk calving rate probably isn't nearly as good in general here?

2 more weeks of this will surely have an effect on the store trade.

Beef trade will probably peak a bit later too since grass cattle will be later coming on stream

Gave neighbour 2 bales today he saw us through with a half dozen in 2013 so he's welcome to them

At least one good thing is from now on to remember that the whole thing can turn very fast.
3 or 4 decent days can work wonders.

It was warm here today in east Clare. 12c showing on two different temperatue gauges.

Just in case I've sounded all doom and gloom.
The UK met office has that rain/snow not even reaching the country on Monday.
But it's still one to watch for snow.
The gfs has high pressure coming in on the 2nd week of April and minimum temperatures of 20c this day fortnight.
    These are not guarrantees.
So to even that back down to gloom again the Gem has night time temperatures of -10 for this day week.
    Ying and yang.

Heavy rain fell here most of the night. Seems we get two dryish days and then one day to mess it all up again
