The colder the winter the sweeter the summer.

Parents say the summer of 82 was a cracker after the bad snow fall

    snowing away here,

    Same as.
Had to laugh at John Eagleton on Radio 1 now saying no accumulations as it would just blow around a bit.

The Chris de Burgh song Lonly Sky is going round in my head this morning.

The cold north wind they call "La Bise"
Is swirling round about my knees.

Any snow tgats disturbed here is disappearing fast thankfully. No frozen pipes and even feels mild outside while working the shovel

Never felt anything as cold as the wind that's blowing snow here in Tipp this morning. Absolutely miserable. Just when land gets near being dry enough to do something with it, the next day some other form of Armageddon comes down.

Not half as cold here as that last time

Bright, dry but cold here in Kerry. It froze for a while last night but everything was fine this morning. I'll probably let the cows out for a few hours today.

Some drying from yesterday, I'm half tempted to go spreading a few loads of slurry after dinner.

A few weeks ago, I was carrying a half bag of ration to a few outwintered young stock and had to turn back as I was leaving my wellies behind me in the field.

I've never seen as much rain as we've had in the last 6 months so I'll take a few weeks of cold and dry right now.

A few flurries of feather snow around now and a fresh breeze making it nippy.

Cows just back inside now. Happy to be out and happy to be back inside again. Might do this for a few days to get them adjusted for being outside again. First day out since the start of October, the longest time we ever had cows inside for that length.

I opened the door for the calves and about half of them ran out and the other half wouldnt go out if i was still there trying. Last year we'd have them out at christmas but today was first day out

4 inches here today too. Much colder than the last time. The snow was melting quick enough when disturbed too. I was just out and about the yard and it is freezing cats and dogs. Icicles everywhere.

Was an awful cold wind blowing for most of the day, but just in from feeding calves and wind has dropped and it seems a lot warmer. I'm keeping the red lamp over my weakly calf and she is about the happiest of us all (humans included). I'm half planning to do a bit of topping tomorrow if nothing falls from the sky tonight. Better wear my pink passion killers under about 6 other layers though!

Got to try out the brush on the tractor loader today a little bit on the road.
Works well when there's a bit of a thaw coming from the ground up. Just need to angle it slightly to one side, in an ideal world.

Science says though for the next 5 or 6 winters I'll have plenty of opportunities to brush snow again according to this current Sun cycle.
