It was, very glad to have called that one wrong. Given the occasion perhaps Corofins finest ever display. Very well done.

It was certainly their best in this campaign. Hard to believe that they struggled somewhat through Galway when you saw them yesterday. Annaghdown should have beaten them in county semi final but bottled it big time in the last 7,8 minutes of that match.

Thought Dylan Wall and Michael Farragher were superb right from the throw in yesterday. I'm a big fan of mike Farragher and always thought that Galway could never find the correct position for him. Wall has been in fantastic form through last years county championship. Surely he must be in line to be looked at for Galway?

I'd say they'll only call in Power, Silke and Ian Burke this year (maybe Lundy). Molloy and Wall will probably be looked at then next season

Steede and Farragher's ship has sailed I'd say

Lundy will definitely be in the panel if he wants to be there. Probably won't be starting though.
Don't think steede made enough of an impact when he was there last year. Cooke and Duggan are ahead of him now so don't think he will get back in. Not up to that standard anyway.

I don't see how Lundy can demand a place on the panel. He hasn't looked good for Galway since his new york break and isn't tearing up trees for Corofin. Power, Wall, silke, molloy, Burke and Mike farragher would be ahead of him in my book.
Farraghers fielding of kickouts laid the platform for that win yesterday. A great option if Galway were struggling for primary possession. Wall and molloy probably a better option at wing back than Gary but as I said previously bringing in too many could upset the apple cart.

The lack of a kick out strategy and the time killing tactic we're poor at executing reared their heads again today.

Granted we got a draw but our late game time management and restarts are what will ultimately leave as behind being genuine contenders.

Saving grace is the kick outs are easily fixed with a bit of coaching and that will lead into managing leads better... we just need someone to come in to push that next level of progression.

You'll find we couldn't give a toss about 2 weeks. Proving a point to ourselves was all we needed. We got more out of today than he did. Mayo is the real focus now.

Lovely choice of words, Eddie Jones would be proud of you.

It describes the blatant cynicism of the team quite well. Only needed the draw in a nothing league game and still resorted to jumping on opposition players to prevent an attack. Keep it up and no one will give this team credit in the years ahead.

From reports he were no angels yerselves. This team are one of the greats and no bitching from out west will detract from it no matter how much you’d like to think it will. Rejoice is getting a draw against the AI champs I say.

Given the strides we've made it's great to have refining of issues like this to iron out. Powers knockouts yesterday were excellent and soaking up the clock comes from losing leads like today. We've got what we wanted from today. It's more important than the league final. We can lose than by a bit once we get a performance.

And we played quite an understrength team today with some great additions to come. We're in a very healthy place. I think we can have a major say in this year's championship

Sounded like it was anything but a "nothing league game."! Dublin don't like getting beaten and don't lie down no matter what is thrown at them.

Good to see Galway back. There was always a bit of an edge when Dublin and Galway play and seems it is genetic! Final should be good. Might even be a rehearsal for later on in the year.

No rejoicing. Just a confirmation we're heading in the right direction. And they won't be regarded as great having to see out close games the way they have been despite what you'd like to think.

Great game, the dubs will be a different team in the final in croke park but today was a good step forward for Galway. We have depth in the panal now and can introduce good players in the second half in all positions like dublin do to finish off games. Some very silly mistakes towards the end. Hope Sean Andy is ok, he's going to be a top class full back. Johnny Duane very solid today and I thought Cooke was excellent and the reason they brought on Fenton.

It was a terrific match for a game that was essentially meaningless.

Meaningless in terms of getting to the final, but they are on one another's radar now and not played one another before so was bit of "getting to know you." :)

From listening to it on wireless, Galway seem to be improving on kickouts, or was that my imagination? Still conceding most of possession which is dodgy proposition if opposition is on going day. Be interesting to see how Galway would cope with going 5/6 points behind in Summer.

Galway were terrible on kickouts today but they played their 3rd choice keeper. I suspect he was told to kick it long to not put pressure on himself. He's still a very young guy.

Opinions and all that I suppose. Great to see Galway back playing and competing with the top teams again, it’s been to long.

Have to say I greatly enjoyed that game. We were headless for a good 25 minutes in attack in that second half against a very strong breeze but Comer steadied the ship and we rescued a point. Still a lot of simple mistakes made like running into a flooded Dublin channel with no support and static movement off the ball.

Cannot overstate how dirty a match it was. Lots of punches thrown in the second half from both sides. The ref and the linesmen had zero control over the players.

Peter Cooke had a super game and scored a couple of beauts in the first half. Ran himself into the ground.

Adrian Varley worked his socks off too and was our biggest threat in attack. Himself and Sweeney seemed to be our only lads looking to run into space.

McHugh from placed ball was excellent.

It's only the League and obviously Croker will show us how far off we are but delighted with the first half from that forward line. This team 3 or 4 years ago are losing by a point today but they worked their way to the equaliser fairplay.

This league was all about seeing if we could survive at the top table. Running Dublin close today is a confirmation that we can hang with the top teams. I suspect the league final is a bonus which would be nice to win but wouldn't get too bent out of shape as long as we didn't take a trimming.

Mayo in a few weeks is the real deal. We played and understrength team today and did well. There's about 3 or 4 almost certainties to return from Corofin plus Michael Daly. We won't fear anyone from here on and our consistency is finally there. No more great one minute horrible the next.

As well as those already mentioned, thought Sean Andy & Paul Conroy had fine games. They're building a good spine, the dubs in Croker will be a serious test, even keeping it close would be a very positive sign. As an aside, Daithi Burke looks a serious footballer with Corofin. Kevin Walsh must curse the day he picked up a hurl!

True. Also forgot Heaney who I think scored two points off the bench.

Your boys spent the whole of the second half at it. It only because scummy when you went behind.

I agree with everything except for varley. Thought he was poor overall. Should've scored a goal in first half and dropped a couple of easy balls in the second half.

Jeepers the dubs can’t take it at all. Love to dish it out though . One thing to be a bad loser but to be a winner with no class is a lot worse .

Also, seeing as you're talking about high standards, it's "you're" not "your".

So most of Galway's games this year has involved a lot a brawling and yet we keep blaming the opposition??
I think some of us may need to take a step back and have a look at what Galway are doing... They're actually quite a nasty little team when they want to be (and I mean that almost in a positive way). And so far it's worked. They generally start at the cynical fouling when the opposition gets a bit of momentum and need to stall them. While it's also liable to backfire in the championship and get us a few red cards, it's probably better than being as naive as we have been in recent years.
I must admit to finding it quite funny that Galway Bay were blaming the handbags on Dublin, when it's clearly Galway starting it 90% of the time!

As a game though I thought it was a very fun match overall. Two teams just testing each other out and seeing where they stand. When Galway were clinical in the first half they shot some excellent scores. Sean Andy was terrific at FB, best player on the field today I'd say . Galway missed 3 or 4 good chances early in the second half and then Dublin started rolling, similar to Galway in the first. Draw a fair reflection of the overall game I think.

Wexford v Galway in the NHL Division 1 quarter-final that was to be re-scheduled for tomorrow - Monday will NOT GO AHEAD as Wexford Park is still unplayable following heavy snow throughout the day. The CCCC will confirm re-fixture details for the match on Tuesday.

Today again showed the black card is not fit for purpose and must be revisited. The punishment isn't severe enough. A black card should mean 10 minutes in the sin bin but even that doesn't punish late cynicism in a game.

For pull downs and wrestling an attacking player to the ground in their own half it should be a black card and ball advanced to defenders 45. For offences inside the defending teams half it should be a black card and 21m free. Finally the exclusion arc should be continued to the end lines and for black card offences inside this area a penalty should be awarded. There's far too much messing and cheating going on in games and that would stamp it out.
