That would normally result in a new trial.

A significant minority of mistrial in northern Ireland are not retried and another significant minority are retried over a year after the initial trial.

Must have edited out the bit where he talked about specific players. He did say 'extra bodies' at one point though.

Pity AJ McGinty ain't IQ, could've been an option for Ulster

Just signed a 4 year contract with Sale and is out for the season with a knee injury.

Next season. There will be 3 irish fly halves in the premiership. Mcginty, Madigan and Steenson. That is amazing.

So if Henderson wants to extend his central contract, is not playing regular champions cup rugby going to affect negotiations. It's amazing how difficult every little thing can get when you are losing.

Morale most be just destroyed and then staff openly critizing players, it doesn't just affect those individuals, you can develop a union mentality in the group against the management if you berate their friends publically. Furthermore I'm sure some of these players are just not talented enough, do they deserve abuse because weren't born with different gene's?

I always find it weird when supporters get angry with athletes. Most of the time they are not playing badly on purpose.

Henderson would be bonkers to give up his Ireland career because Ulster weren't in the Champions Cup for a season. I'd be more worried about the rumour that he's waiting to see how Ulster deal with his mates. But even that is just an unfounded rumour that I read from one or two posters on uafc where s**** talk is the new normal.

Ulster A beat Munster A 24-19 yesterday. Good win. Usually we get hammered in these games.

The 12 was a guy called Chris Swash. Anyone know anything about him? I've genuinely never heard of him.

There is no way that is true. Wouldn’t worry.

Perhaps you could have phrased that better, but Dungannon is in Ulster. :p

Just out on interest my late father was a Dungannon RFC supporter and told me he took me to see Dungannon play Italy when I was in short trousers, I think it was back sometime in the 1960s.

It's my local club. Played minis there years ago. They've really fallen off a cliff in the last number of years though.

Really been poor past few seasons. Very gradual decline from mid table division 1 team 10 seasons ago to struggling in division 4 now. Wont be relegated to the bottom division though

I, following in my Dad's tradition followed Dungannon for many years until 4 years ago when I gave up watching them because they had declined so much and were a pale shadow of earlier days. The 2000/20001 team that won the AIL had a backline that was the envy of many other clubs at the time. I guess crowds now at Stevenson Park are pretty thin but as you say they'll survive relegation to bottom tier of senior rugby this season.

Wonder if there’s a correlation between the demise of Dungannon Rugby and the promotion of Dungannon Swifts to being a senior club in the Irish League.

Dungannon is still a rugby town probably but it now has a top tier football club in town as well that has quite a large youth section if I remember right ( I think the swifts and Dungannon United youth are linked?).

Swifts are gaining a lot of support alright. I have uncles and cousins who now watch them every week religiously.
Kids will always be drawn to soccer ball.
I wonder are parents nervous of the "physicality" of rugby and therefore aren't keen on their kids playing the game.
I also wonder what is the story with lads from the Royal School? Are they not prepared to tog out for dungannon anymore? Maybe they have other interests and prefer to study at the weekends.
Years (and I mean years) ago a lot of the lads in school played at a high level with dungannon and I'm fairly sure one or two got game time with Ulster.

From what I gather less and less of those leaving school continue to play rugby and this is increasingly the case throughout Ulster. I'm unsure if this is happening in the other provinces.

Could be a correlation but issue is where are club getting kids to play for them and how to attract those playing in school to continue playing.
They do field an under 14/16/18 side in leagues but follow on to adult level isnt great i dont think??

Possibly parents are nervous but that itnt necessarily affecting rugby that much. If in RS Dungannon can you play club rugby as well? You cant play both if in some schools so if in RSD you mightnt be allowed play youths rugby.

Its happening in other provinces but this can change with complete changes to structure of club and schools competitions as well as whole structure of season for kids between 13-19 playing rugby.

Can we chuck as much money as possible towards getting leavy up here as well?

Nordi 6 Leavy 7 Coetzee 8 Deysel gone or to bench would be lovely
