Probably mentioned already but Sparkle 2 Evo is going for practically nothing on Switch in the SA store. Like 1 euro or something.

I have it on steam already so went for Qbik.

Cost me 18.10 South African Rand (~€1.24) as I had some Gold Points to use. (Nintendo FINALLY seem to be copping on with e-store deals and discounts and points)

Although I haven't played it I'm not quite sure is it an RPG or is it a Golf Game!?
I watched a tonne of footage on Youtube

Treat it like an RPG. You'll generally be told what to do next and where to go. Each task and side quest is completed with a ball and club though. Every 'batttle' is settled over 9 holes, like real men.

    It's fantastically innovative.

Played a few demos the last few days.

Found Kirby Star Allies although well presented and fun to not have any real challenge. Although I'm probably not the target audience.

Excited for Octopath Traveller, thought it is a great prospect. An old-school RPG with a beautiful art style. Will be keeping an eye out for reviews.

Same as with Octopath, Squeenix strike me as a crowd that know how to make games like this, are loads of the early final fantasy games similarish? It was much better than I was expecting

I only downloaded the Demo of Octopath the other day. Hopefully I'll have a chance to play it soon but quite interested by it.

What I am finding myself missing is a good online shooter on Switch. Something I can just play one or two matches in a half hour or so. If Overwatch came to Switch I'd buy it straight away.

Blizzard have said they've no plans to bring it to Switch unfortunately, they're hell bent on keeping it at a stable and solid 60fps which is hard to do portable atm, I'd play that stuff at 540p if it was on the cards though.

Splatoon 2 has pretty race reviews and is very popular, I'd have a gander if I were you.

I'd love to see Overwatch on the Switch but I don't think it will happen. Fortnite would be more likely, which would be great if it happened.

Edit: +1 on the Splatoon 2 recommendation, its fantastic.

Oh I don't expect to see it on Switch unfortunately but I would love it.

I'm not sure if I'd like Splatoon though but maybe I'd change my mind if I gave it a chance.

I was the same with Splatoon until i played the testfire. I'm not usually an online player but the matches were so short and never felt unfair or like you were bad at the game even when playing against or with high ranks, you can get higher scores than them

    Kirby reviews have started appearing

Very polished, very easy, short, but a good chunk of post game content if that floats your boat. Best played with others (which is hardly a surprise) :)

Edit: 8.3 on IGN, Recommended on Eurogamer. Damn, looks like a must have.

€45 in South Africa seems to be the best price.

any opinions on the Darkest Dungeon series?

I've bought it on Switch and PC now, it's really bloody hard, very stressful.

I definitely like it better in handheld form, I can atleast be comfy in bed when I'm directing a band of walking stress machines. It's quite satisfying to beat a boss though, I'm enjoying it

Great game, but be prepared to be very frustrated with it till the mechanics click and you get used to the classes and the positioning of them.

Darkest Dungeon is great, but it doesn't hold your hand.
I've been watching a guide to help explain some of the mechanics and it's a MASSIVE help and makes the game better.

Part 1 (there are more parts, so check out the channel for more)

Darkest Dungeon is about €1.30 on the Apple App Store right now. If you have an iPad, it's a pretty cheap way of trying it out before pulling the trigger on the Switch version.

I started to play Splatoon 2 on switch. I was pretty good at it on switch. Its funny now as a level 3 player in bog standard clothes and beginner weapons to be kicking ass with players in the level 30's, 40's and even 50's and getting first place on the team:)

Heading America later this month and strongly considering getting one of these. With a Revolut card, can get:

    - Switch €245
    - Zelda €35
    - Mario Odyssey €35

Seems impossible that there would be better prices than that here any time soon. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/advice/warning on doing that? I'd leave my charging dock plugged in all the time so don't mind having an Irish plug adapter permanently on it. The games etc are totally region free as far as I know?

One other thing is whether it's likely (best guesses I know...) there'll be any kind of revamped Switch being released in the next year or so? Similar to the PS4 getting slimmer or the 3Ds being re-released with a bigger screen. I'd be excited to play the games above, but my main reason for getting a switch is for the Pokémon release this year or early next, and figure I'd be better off getting one now in advance in the US as it's still probably cheaper than an Irish price by the end of 2018. The only thing that would make me wait is the possibility that the hardware would be updated in some way?

Reports dropped via Wall Street Journal states that a Switch revision, if there ever is one, is not a priority anytime soon. Ninty seem to be focusing games and peripherals to boost 2nd year sales.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/nintendo-wont-have-switch-2-0-looks-to-peripherals-for-more-sales-1519890429

Quoting Trusted Reviews as actual WSJ article is behind a paywall.
Sources referenced within the report claim that Nintendo is waiting longer than it usually would to release hardware iterations of the popular Switch console.
Instead, it wishes to focus on peripherals, such as the upcoming Nintendo Labo, that will take advantage of the system’s capabilities.

Are you including sales tax in the prices? Most store in the US show the prices excluding the Vat.

Would kill for a Super MArio Sunshine remake on switch.
Imagine it properly finished this time and with the Odyssey engine.

Outsource to the Shadow of the Colossus crowd or even in house with the Metroid Prime dudes.
