Well shiit, this is going to get messy.

As we know, Limited Run Games will be releasing games for the Switch. Look at those godforsaken spines. They're NUMBERED! How can you buy #001 and then buy #007? You'll have to buy them all to display on the shelf in numerical order! :(

As it happens, #001 is Thimbleweed Park. LRG are also releasing a big box version with plenty of goodies inside. This above all is one I need in my life.

    Oh my, that reversible cover!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,946 ✭✭✭McLoughlin

I hope we have a Mega Drive reversible cover.

As for Limited Run Games that box set with postage to Ireland is around €70 according to Limited Run customer service.

Signature Edition, Super Rare Games and Limited Run Games all these numbered low run games going to get pricey for collectors.

Think the MD cover's coming to Europe.

One other thing is whether it's likely (best guesses I know...) there'll be any kind of revamped Switch being released in the next year or so?

The 5.0 update had code for a new chipset but that's probably just a security thing because the launch models have a serious flaw.

If I were going to the us and buying switch related things I'd be on the look out for microsd cards, they make me jealous looking on them bargain sites and seeing they're us only deals.

Are you including sales tax in the prices? Most store in the US show the prices excluding the Vat.

You can get it back or not pay it at all usually if you show your passport at purchase.

Are you sure? My cousin was going too but an iPhone the last time he was in Orlando but when he factored in the Tax it wasn't much of a saving and he was told that he had to pay the tax in the store.

Also doubtful about not paying sales tax for an in store purchase. But if you order online from a small or medium business which has no physical presence in the state of delivery you can get away with not paying it.

My son got Zelda for his confirmation present a couple of weeks ago, and it sat there unplayed. Fornite on the Xbox seemed to have a unshakable grip on him. Then because of a power cut last week he had the switch to play on, Zelda went on, and hasn't been off since. Thank you ESB for showing my son the error of his ways. 20+ hours in now. Good for me too, I hadn't played it because I didn't think it was right to play his game before him and I'm just getting started. Very different from previous Zelda games I've played but loving it.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

My first zelda game was Links Awakening on Game boy. My son sat watching me play from about 2 years of age. Then he started playing. He wanted to learn how to read some he could read the story. He's 23 now and is as addicted as me!

It fills my heart with joy that Zelda can bring families together and also teach kids to read <3

My first Zelda experience was 5 minutes of the Snes version at my cousins, fell in love with it and got it on the GB then got a Snes and got it on that too, ever since, I have always bought Zelda except for Majora's Mask, I didnt like that one

My first Zelda games were Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening. I really liked MM's story and atmosphere.

BotW had me hooked for over a month, totalling >230 hours.

Most tourist places do it in store but normal purchases like a console probably will have to be claimed back at the airport via a form.

I'm not sure it'd be worth it if you get charged Irish vat on entry of course. Not sure they do that but I'd imagine they might.

Never done it myself, just been told by parents and friends that's what they did. Other countries I was in myself it worked like I described though.

Probably discussed a hundred times here, but how are you lot finding battery life?

My Switch gets moderate use, and I’ve had it since December. I’d be lucky if I got 1.5 hours of undocked play of Zelda BOTW after a full charge.

I know Zelda would be more demanding than other games, but I’m reading online of others who claim to get three hours game time!

I played zelda un docked yesterday for just over an hour and had 60% battery remaining. So I'm assuming I'd have gotten at least 2 hours.
I keep my brightness setting fairly low.

I get anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the demanding games and at least double that for the lighter stuff. Think I always have the auto-brightness on too.

Are you using the standard charger or standard charger and docking station. I read some where that people were advising against using fast chargers for phones as it kills the battery life in the long run. Just wondering. Sounds like you are just charging it docked

I play Zelda most evenings for about an hour or more and would have about 60% battery left.

Thats one thing about Nintendo it spans generations unlike other consoles. Zelda is an excellent game. BOTW is just amazing on the switch.

Nintendo have been in the console scene since 1977 (41 years ago) with the Japan-exclusive Color TV-Game. They started reaching out to other parts of the world with the NES, starting in 1985 (33 years) in the US.

Sony jumped into the market in 1994 in Japan and '95 (23 years) elsewhere.

Microsoft, on the other hand, only entered the console scene in 2001 (17/18 years).

Picked up "no thing" on switch in the South African store for about 89 cent

I bought a mini NES last weekend. I'm now reliving the old 8 bit games that I used to play back in the day :)

Looking to pick up a physical copy of Doom for the Switch. No joy in city centre shops in Dublin, gamecard only on Amazon. Any recommendations for other online sellers?
