I definitely feel the resolution should be left alone. It plays and looks beautiful, really. What I do think is an issue, is the processing power. BotW is a modern masterpiece, but there are parts of the game where the Switch is seriously out of its depth (Korok Forest springs to mind). For me, when I compare the Cemu version of BotW against the Switch version, the stark contrast is not the higher resolutions on offer, but the super stable 60fps that Cemu can offer. It transforms the game experience drastically. It's highly likely, my next playthrough of the game, will not be on a Nintendo console :(

I accept though, that there's a certain payoff in order to support mobility, & that's thermal concerns and battery life.

I found it very easy and a bit boring.

It was easy yeah, but the amount of powers combinable in the full release will make it a fun co-op experience with the young lad in my case.

Has anybody taken a chance on Mulaka yet?

It played itself at times when you have 3 allies.
It was fairly average but I always find most of the Kirby games to be like that.

I'm amazed at how Kirby has such a following given how easy the games are.

Fun is sometimes different from difficult.

Guys is it straightforward to change my account from South African to Norwegian? Norway seems to be where it's at for best eshop value currently. I don't have any remaining eshop balance on my account presently so not worried there. Though don't want to lose my gold points balance, and I hope if I do change regions that I'll still be able to play all my eshop games I own on this same account - I'll be OK in this sense, right?

No idea about gold points. But besides that I'm suer there is no problem. Changing it is easy and you'll still be able to use games from other eshops (at least it works for me with South African and Russian purchases).

I've hopped from SA to Russia to Ireland. Still have all my gold points. Can't find anything to spend the buggers on.

Its probably been mentioned before but if I were to purchase those ecards from the US, can I redeem them on a US account on the Switch and use that to purchase games from the American eshop?

    Yep.

I blindly bought Bayonetta on the store having never played it before but having known about it and its reputation as an excellent game (that is its reputation, right?).

I'm currently mouth agape watching the cutscene in the cemetery at the very beginning of the game, this is bonkers stuff altogether.

Very strong whiff of Final Fantasy 10-2 from the opening shenigans, a game which wasn't to my taste at all. Oh well, hopefully it gets good. My own fault for not knowing what kind of game Bayonetta was.

Yeah, it's one of those games. I was playing it on a plane, and had to shield the screen a few times!

It's a lot of fun, and it's very difficult to get really good at it. My first attempt on Normal was more Stone than Platinum. It's not a long game, maybe about 8 hours, but that's just a playthrough on the story, with none of the extra stuff. I'm just starting the sequel, which I still have some muscle memory, and it's just as good.

It's likely a hint towards a Switch version of Diablo 3.

Apparently the Switch only records playtimes up to one year, then it resets! Hope its just a dumb glitch.

Got an email from Nintendo for my birthday offering me 30% off selected 3DS/Wii U games. I don't own any of those consoles; give me Switch discounts! It's my birthday and I'll get what I want!

I got the same thing for my last birthday, although I didn't own a Switch back then. Decided to get a discount on Splatoon 1 just 2 months before Splatoon 2 came out.

And I agree, Nintendo should give the customer free reign on what games to spend with a discount.

I'm going to America in a few weeks and was thinking of getting a Switch as I'll be travelling a good bit over there, seems a bit cheaper too.

Would I have any issues using it back in Ireland?

    Nope, it's totally region free.

You'll need a different plug for charging, or an adaptor, that's it

    They say here it’s a bug: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/03/switch_programming_glitch_is_forgetting_your_game_playtimes

Anyone still having problems with the joy-cons? The joystick on my left joy-con isn't working properly. I must say I'm finding the Switch very buggy; initially my whole system froze up and had to be replaced, now the (replacement) joy-com isn't working after less than two months.

I've had Nintendo consoles since the SNES and I've never seen this level of problem.

My launch Switch still works perfectly. There's a link in the thread somewhere to contact Nintendo about replacing the left Joycon, they seem to be doing it no questions asked.
