surprised they didn't name it Cristiano

The Portuguese named this one as it originated near them they got naming rights, or so they said on the bbc earlier.
Its not one of our storms so not in our alphabetical order, E was next in theirs though.

Missed opportunity there for them to name it something difficult for English speakers knowing it's headed for Ireland/UK. They'd get a good laugh watching our weather forecasters struggle with "Storm Encarnação" or something

Northern extent of the snowfall on Friday is Dublin, through Meath, according to Icon before it pulls a way south. Chaos for the south.

    Is it schleet?

In Drogheda - it looks way more impressive on that radar that it actually is. Very small flakes and not sticking. Its only the beginning though :D

I'd imagine there's nothing more terrifying to an Iberian than the threat of an English name on the way, damned tourists and hen parties!
