It's even parks in that distinctive "take nearly two spaces" way I find a lot of modern beemers do.

Spotted a Mk1 VW Jetta outside Tullow this evening. 'VIC' reg and looked to be in excellent condition...towing a small trailer.

    DS or CX?

I'm sure its a DS @Silvera is talking about. I've seen pics of a HIC reg estate in the past but can't recall the plate off the top of my head

I took the pic and posted it here a couple of years ago and on reflection it was a DS.

Tidy LHD MB in Greystones - love this colour on the W123. There's a local W115 also in the same hue.
Golf also spotted in greystones yesterday

Is this it, lovely car, one of my favourites, it needs the second number plate on the rear bumper though...

My uncle in Meath had one of those in the early 80s. They had 8 kids and used to cart them and my cousins around in it during the holidays. Pretty sure there was no ISOFIX :D

Is this the only Irish one left? There was one at the top of our road when I was a lad but its not this one. It was light blue and white

    An absolute legend the DS.

From winning the Monte Carlo Rally to use as a Presidential limo, ambulance, police car, camera car. They were a real milestone in motoring history.

Some were built in Slough in the UK.

Yes, that's the one I spotted!

Why would it need a second number plate on the bumper?

So you can drive with the tailgate open (big items sticking out) and still display your rear reg plate. Note how the reg plate lights are at 45 degrees, so both plates are illuminated:

Early Range Rover had a similar idea, except it was on a hinge and you had to flip it down manually.
