I am going to call out the overly pious owenybaloney as a blatant troll. He answers everything here except the 100% legitimate question I put to him, which is a morally right but religiously wrong scenario.

Excuse me, but I am not a troll. Thank you.

Your posts make you come across as a troll as they don't seem genuine.
They certainly don't read like they come from a mentally sound mind.

The most basic method of 'contraception' is abstinence from sex ... and some people do so for life. This is perfectly moral, but somewhat in conflict with God's command to be fruitful and multiply (or reproduce) ... but to each their own and all that.

The next level of contraception is the use of various means to prevent fertilisation during sex. This is also morally acceptable because everyone has the moral right to decide to have children ... or not, as the case may be ... same as abstinence morally.

The next level of 'contraception' is the use of abortion to kill unborn children that have already started on their journey through life. This is deeply immoral and is banned, to varying degrees, by law in different countries.

While the forum is titled "What are your views on contraception" this black and white statement leaves out so much, I feel it needs a reply.

The morality of any method is a matter of personal opinion or faith. Not all people or denominations consider contraception (in any form) to be moral or immoral.

There are many options in between abstinence and surgical not reflected in the simple 1-2-3 level view given, from the various barrier methods used during intercourse, spermicides, post cotial methods, including hormonal, implants (some combined with hormonal), morning after pill, medical and surgical.

What methods I find personally acceptable is a matter between myself and my partner. I don't think I should be able to dictate what is acceptable (or available) to others, based solely on my own views.

Rather than saying "it is banned, to varying degrees, by law in different countries." it would be more accurate to say that medicines, medical and surgical procedures are variously regulated by law in different countries.

It is both ethically and medically dangerous ... and should only be used in extremis.

Abortion is legal in many different countries, mostly progressive ones. The places where it is banned tend to be non progressive countries where religion has a strong cultural hold on the society.
So full of self-serving unsupported contentions ... and assumptions ... starting with the assumption that the amount of killing of unborn children is directly correlated with 'progressivism' ... and ending with the opinion that religion is 'non-progressive'.

If that is your definition of 'progressivism' ... I'll 'pass' on it ... and call it, what it is, savagery, instead.

Whichever way you describe it ... it amounts to pretty much the same thing !!

Provide evidence that the morning after pill is medically dangerous.

The morning after pill is strictly disallowed in God's eyes. It is, the killing of a conception. It doesn't matter if it happens at the moment of conception, a week after, a month after, or six months after. It is a heinous crime, which cries to the High Heavens for Vengence.

The question was directed to JC.

In addition, you answered with a religious answer to a question of medical safety of the morning after pill.

Of course you can. You can kill the unborn at any stage of development. However, you will have to answer for it, whether you know it or not. I'd advise the former, myself.

I know what God knows, because I have faith. You have no faith, and thus you know nothing.

    Excellent.

However Owen I'd suggest you bring yourself up to speed with some of the latest Catholic teaching. I understand now that masturbation is perfectly acceptable as long as it is not harming a relationship and the concepts of hell and the devil have been watered down somewhat.

Catholic dogma about contraception sex, love etc. have condemned millions to death, misery, and torture at the hands of evil men and women who use this dogma to justify their actions.

Far from the vision the Nazarene had for the world I believe...

<snip> keep up the great parody posts

I put 3 stars in front of the " keep up the great parody posts" to denote it as a footnote... How will I get into heaven now after offending the Christianity mods. I can feel the pointy pitch fork already!
