After updating and google play now doesn't work and the clock is gone a bit wonky.

i notice no emails coming through unless i go into the app and even when i do, the notification emails then stay the same as they were earlier

Had to uninstall Netflix as it wouldn't work on phone since upgrade. Working ok after reinstalling

I'm also noticing i'm not getting other notifications
eg i have the adverts app. no notifications through at all on that

is there a setting which has maybe been changed?

Just noticed (don't know if it was there before) if you press down on an app it brings up an direct link to the app settings/information. For some apps, it will give you option eg Twitter you get 4 options on what you want to do (another one is play movies & TV app)

I am getting notifications fine but the main reason I updated was to improve the battery life. That has been a disaster as it is now worse. I had mine on power saving mode previously but in the updated version it will only go on at 50% and has an annoying orange light on then also. Any chance they will be updating the update soon?

I was the opposite for notifications, they were coming from all directions. Well the sounds and vibrations were but I wasn’t seeing the notifications because I’d previously disabled some of them.

I’ve had to force stop some apps and uninstall others just to stop it. Mail though can’t be uninstalled.
Shame, I used to like seeing weather and traffic updates on my lock screen but not if its going to shake and alarm every time there’s a change.

Battery life does seem a bit better though, but might have to change the icons, they look like a weird mix between a PS Vita icon and an apple one.

I'm still having trouble with some app notifications. eg adverts.

Have found battery life is gone to pot, barely getting a day out of her now where as before it wasn't a problem.

have this stupid little symbol which can only be described as something like you would see in a hospital to monitor your heart rate. no idea what it is for, it appears intermittantly and when it does, i cant get rid of it.

certain things are shutting down as battery goes low and dont start up again when power goes up. eg, wifi & bluetooth. this used to happen a lot, but had been grand for a ling time. now annoying again.

In Chrome now if I want to visit previously visited webpage, just typing the first few letters normally gives you a shortcut but it doesn't work anymore.
eg, if i want to go to boards, I start typing "boa" and then a list pops up and boards will be highlighted so I should just have to click on go to quickly get to my webpage... but it doesnt work. all i get now is a google search of "boa" It is very annoying, especially as I just do is so quickly as default.

Sounds like a factory reset is in order

Regarding the icon in your status bar, if you pull down on the status bar is there any entry for whatever that icon is? You should be able to long press on it and find out what it is. A screenshot of the icon might help also.

just came up there
says android system 7m, mail is rnning in the background, tap for details on battery and data usage

long press tells me 1 of 18 notification categories from this app

also getting a notification when i pull dowwn that push mail service is running and cant get rid of that either

Could be possible that you're having a sync issue which would also be killing your battery.

What does 'android system 7m' mean? or it's just Android System?

up at 15 now.

makes sense thats what could be killing the battery alright.

i've always ran push mails though, just never had the nitifications

Definitely sounds like something is messed up. Personally, I never used the HTC mail app. I just set up all my accounts through Gmail.

I would do a factory reset, or at the very least clear data on your mail app and set it up again. It could be multiple things causing your drain, though.

The symbol your seeing is for a app syncing in the background, which is a feature of oreo. Pops up briefly on my U11 every now and then for the contacts app.

Other thing is when playing video's Eg clicking a you tube or twatt link on a boards and blowing it up to full screen you now get a white bar running across the bottom of the screen.
Anyone else get this? Can you get rid of it?

Also anyone else have the other issue I mentioned regarding autofilling web pages as you type in chrome

Don't have those issues. Played YouTube video now and it was OK.

My problem which only happened today is when I go to my text messages, the person name has disappeared and tells me contact doesn't exist but when I check my contacts they're there. It won't allow me to edit contact under text message to put name on it.

EDIT: as they always say did you turn it off and on again... Which I did do and all is ok now. 😃

Yes I turn my phone off every night.
Only happens in chrome I think.

Since updating to Oreo has anybody else's play Store started acting up?

Every time I load it up I get an error message after a few seconds to say it has stopped working ...

Update.

I just got a notification from adverts app for first time since update.

I had previously done all the remove and reinstall the app, rebooted pone, cleared history etc. but none of it had made any difference.

It looks like the adverts app may have been updated through automatic updates on the play store

Edit: note on adverts app saying the update was to fix push notifications on Oreo devices!

My phone is annoyiong.
Auto rotate keeps turning itself off.
And Brightness levels go up and down all the time. I'd be looking at somehting, in an app or whatever and all of a sudden the screen might just go real dark for no reason... happens a lot
