Android version 8.0.0 and Software 3.16.401.2

Thank you. And you've no issues with battery life or anything like that?

When I get notifications now at top of the screen, pulling down doesn't seem to be working unless I am on the home page. It used to work all the time even if I had an app opened up

Looking for some help all you knowledgeable folk.
My htc 10 battery is disgracefully bad nowadays. Battery will be dead by lunch time with no use at all. Any good tips / apps out there to find out what's draining the battery?

It might not be any specific app. A factory reset of the phone can work wonders.

Same happened to me although not that bad. I did a factory reset and it got worse.. Then over time improved to about 80% of the original battery life. No idea why this was the case.

Yeah I did a reset a few months ago but nothing improved. And nothing shows up as using battery in battery stats.

I always find putting the screen power to the lowest will help big time!..unfortunately I had enough of their lack of updates and latest flagship phone being so hard to get..i guess it's time to move on after 10 years..

    why?

Well the general view on the device seems to be based on two things only, the new digital buttons and HTC's financial performance and outlook as a company at the moment.

Regarding the buttons if you actually look at the substantial various threads on xda its looks like its not really a big deal, people saying you get used to them its just a bit weird at the start, and the feeling and accuracy is improved with a case, which one would probably do anyway because if its anything like the U11 and plus its slippery as an eel.

Everything else is as is or improved on from the U11+. Similar design and feel but better again camera and sound performance.

I personally undo and or replace the HTC apps for all Google stuff and nova launcher. I dislike their stock apps but its all sorted in 5 minutes. So not a deal breaker.

I returned the G7 I bought 2 weeks ago and soon as the refund clears I think I'll buy the 12+. So I'll report back soon as.

I would like another HTC phone to replace HTC10.

Having a quick read, it looks like I will have to switch to another brand which is a pity.

Will wait to hear how sentient_6 gets on before I decide.

    What about it?

So I said I would report back. Have the phone since yesterday evening. I think this is the best phone HTC have made and the negativety surrounding it is uncalled for.

    What i like:
    Screen is gorgeous.
    Camera is excellent.
Sound quality is excellent from the speakers, usonics have actually improved again (were great on the u11) and bluetooth when it works*.
Translucent blue and design in general is very cool.

Buttons are no big deal at all, there are definitely people reporting issues but I would be returning it straight away as a faulty unit.

*The only fault at the moment I do have is it doesn't like my cars Bluetooth, music sounds like a skipping scratched cd. I was raging today trying to fix it and eventually contacted htc about a return. This evening though it works perfectly with Sony bt speaker and Sony bt headphones. I think it's bt 5 compatibility issues with certain head units. Happening on 2 vw group cars i checked today. So not to happy about that. Iv decided to leave it for now though and use the aux. There's a substantial update on the way I understand.

Im not going to tell anyone on here to definitely do or don't get it. I think maybe if your on the fence and have the money anyway maybe get it and make up your own mind, 14 day returns!

Even coming from the U11 its definitely an upgrade. Software is pretty much the same mostly but it's a big hardware change (18:9 screen, nav buttons and rear fingerprint etc) all which I prefer.

I have coveted the HTC 10 since it came out, caved yesterday and got a Very Good condition Amazon WHD for 175euro.

I know it wont go past Oreo but it should still be a nice difference from my One Plus 3.

Word of warning for anyone actually going to get the U12 from htc. They don't include the 3.5 mm adapter anymore. I had read they were going to in Europe but looks like its stopped. Its only 7.50 to add it on the htc club website with the phone and then no shipping. I didn't think to include it and now if i want to buy it on its own the shipping is something ridiculous like 26.

My HTC 10 crashed and turned itself off and restarted once but didn't the last time. The battery was at 27% when this started, when I put it back on the final time it was down to 3%. Was taking a photo when all this started (it wasn't a selfie in case anyone says I broke it :P)

    Anyone else had any problems?

To plug standard headphones into the USB C port as there's no 3.5mm port on a lot of phones now.

    Ok.
So did the 11 doway with the port? My 10 has one.
Won't bother me anyway as I have Bluetooth headphones.

Actually did the 11 come with headphones? What about the 12?

I always would have preferred a decent cover with my phone than the countless number of headphones I have stacked up from down through the years.

The U11 comes with usb c headphones that use HTC's uSonic with noise cancelling tech. It also comes with a USB C to 3.5mm adaptor for using normal headphones.

Have they improved the adapter jack I wonder? Pretty much given up on mine, keeps connecting and disconnecting randomly, zero hassle with the USonics and charger cable so it's definitely just a faulty adapter as opposed to the USB-C port.
