would you guys consider it cheating to use a mouse and keyboard on xbox?

i've found a way of using one through the streaming app on windows 10 it emulates my keyboard and mouse via a controller plugged into my laptop.

it works fine but id like to hear your thoughts, do you think im a filthy cheater?

    What’s the latency like?
Be nice to do and just go rampant on people :)
Be perfect to show the how k/b trumps controller in fps games.

Without any aim assist on PUBG it would be lambs to the slaughter. It is indeed cheating.

I wouldn't go there though in case you get your Xbox banned. I don't see why anyone would need to use a mouse and keyboard in a game where everyone is using a controller. The old sage wisdom applies.

Don't know what's going on lately, but my last few games I've been getting killed by headshots from people (supposedly) nowhere near me. Pretty strange.

Latency is quite nice, not any noticeable lag spikes or anything, I'd play it on PC but my laptop isn't high end and haven't got the money to spend on one, main reason why im using the KB/M

if you'd like il make a video tonight on how to set it up.

it's basically plugging a usb cable into the laptop and connecting your controller and streaming with the xbox app on windows 10 that's how it emulates my keyboard and mouse while using this https://gyazo.com/b245c8d0d46b1b5853dc7a2090a13485

I'm also using a wired connection on both laptop and xbox one so maybe that's why i don't notice any lag spikes or any of the sort.

EDIT You can use your TV to play and not the laptop screen to avoid any delay via streaming just let the streaming run while you use the TV.

Would have to agree with this. I would also consider it cheating to use a mouse and keyboard in any FPS game on a console. The advantages are massive and unfair to all other players.

It is hard enough to kill people in PUBG as it is, with the invisible walls, bullets not passing through gaps in fences and railings, horrible frame rates, random crashes LET ALONE having to put up with someone using a keyboard and mouse.

    You are trolling right?

" i've found a way of using one through " like you just tripped over this and now use it, If you where honest you would say that you went out of your way to find out how to do this so you can get an advantage over other xbox players and that sir is simply cheating, so to answer your questions your a filthy cheater...

Aren't there actual mouse and keyboards that plug directly into the xbox though? I remember seeing people talking about them (with this thing: https://xim.tech/) for Overwatch, seemed that there were quite a few people who were using them.

OMG this game is f**king annoying, frustrating etc etc, I love the concept and the tension and I can get into the last 20-30 easy enough but that is not from killing anybody its just hiding in a f**king bush:o The last 20 games I think I have only killed about 1 person. My K/D ratio 0.3, just had a look at my stats and I reach the top 10 14% of the time but it doesn't feel like that.

My problem is the shooting (which is a problem in a shooting/survival game:P) cannot for the hell of it get the hang of it. Ive played the division A LOT so know my way around 3rd person shooters but this is very awkward. Am I that bad or does it take a lot of time to get up to speed time. How the hell do you get 7-8 kills in one game:confused:

Hmm. I got 8th position on my first game. I think I'll walk away now, knowing it can only go downhill from there. :D

You can use a keyboard for navigation and web browsing etc but it is not OFFICIALLY supported for games yet. The last update from Microsoft was from December 21st 2017 where they stated they were still looking into the viability of using keyboard and mouse for gaming. At the moment they have no concrete plans to release it. It would require developers to get on board aswell but the advantage for RTS and FPS games would in my opinion break the fundamentals of console gaming.

If someone is using them for gaming at the moment they are essentially breaking Microsoft's rules are are open to getting their console banned. They are going out of their way to trick the console into thinking that the peripheral is a controller when infact it is a keyboard. It is cheating no matter what way you look at it. I would report ANYONE even xbox live friends if they confirmed they were using a keyboard and mouse.

If you want to play PC then go plan a PC. Being able to sit comfortably on my couch and play games is the whole point of a console. If I wanted to sit at a desk I would stay in work...

Sorry, I just cant see the need for games on Xbox to allow or need keyboard and mouse.

I find the shooting is dogsh1t. Takes getting used to alright.

Also does anyone know which sensitivity setting controls first person targetting/aiming? Ive messed with them all but am unsure how to get me moving faster in 1st person

Only started playing this week but getting 2/3 kills most games but only get in the 60's or higher most the time. I think you need to go to more popular spots and take your chances with more players around to get more used to it. you'll die quicker initially but its better for practise with aiming/killing. By the time you get to the last 20 by waiting most lads left are decent players so you have no chance of suddenly being able to kill them. just my opinion anyways

An awful lot of getting kills is patience and opportunity. let 2 lads fight it out before attacking so you only have a wounded enemy to kill, or better yet, get them while they're looting. if you dont think 100% you can kill someone who hasn't seen you, don't engage. If someone comes into a house you're looting, dont run downstairs to attack, crouch and wait for them to come towards you before you fire on them. the element of surprise is a big factor.

Yeah, the number of kills you get is irrelevant, all you need to do is survive. Plenty of times I seen someone, dropped, and waited until they leave, because I'm utterly useless at distance sniping.

In other games, people literally walk into my crosshairs ten feet away with their back turned to me, and I'm not going to turn down an opportunity like that.

Yeah it's tough. Only way is to drop into the school every round and learn how to fight. Don't even worry about winning the round . Just concentrate on getting a few kills. It's going to be more frustrating looting in a quiet spot, run around for twenty minutes and then getting shot in the back out of nowhere

The story of my life with this game. I think I'll take your advice and go looking for trouble. Is there anyway you can scope in beside double pulling the left trigger. It always takes me a coupe of goes and I miss the opportunity

You don't double pull. Just tap on the left trigger once to aim down sight. Tap again to come out of ADS.

I always double pull, just feels more natural to me to have my finger down on the trigger while aiming and then release to come out of sights.

I am sure when the game is in its final release they'll have an option for hold to aim down sights vs tap/toggle to ADS.

I'd highly recommend just tapping and adjusting to its awkwardness. It can save you vital time.

if you double tap the left trigger and keep it held in, it snaps back to 3rd person view when you release it.

I've practiced it and like it, but I still find that I make a balls of it if I'm ambushed or caught off guard.
I'd much rather an option to have a full trigger pull to ADS like normal, and LB to tighten the hipfire spread (I dont think LB does anything in 3rd person view anyway)

Bought it over Christmas but I've only got a proper go the last day or two.

I think it's great! Haven't had any problems with getting kicked etc. Every game has been perfect in terms of connection, graphics etc. Got my first win today which I was chuffed with :D

So many great moments though that I have to record which makes the game imo.

Do people have the DVR disabled to improve performance or is that no longer necessary?

It was shown by Digital Foundry as not making any noticeable difference so I've left Game DVR on when playing on my base Xbox One.

Playing with two other lads tonight. One on original Xbox and one on an S. And every time they’re able to enter buildings while I’m stuck with muddy non loaded for buildings for a good 15/20 seconds after their maps resolve. Tried pushing into a building there and got stuck in a wall until someone whacked me.

Should I uninstall it and reinstall it again?

No, the Building just take longer to render in on the Xbox One and S.

Sorry, ballsed that description up. Maybe I could take the S loading faster every time - but my mate who also has an original Xbox one loads up a good few seconds before me as well.

if hes running the game off of a solid state external drive, he'll see a difference too.

    Xbox players,

    SIZE: 4,5GB

Thank you for your enthusiastic feedback and support as we transitioned into 2018.

The team has been working diligently to elevate the overall player experience, as well as listen and react to our community feedback.

Below you will find quality of life fixes, as well as our efforts to resolve known memory crashes, and incremental improvements to performance.

Given the complexity of some of the crashes that have been logged, we know there is still work remaining in order for us to reproduce and address all remaining issues. Crash fixes, like all areas of the game, will be something we continue to improve upon as part of our Xbox Game Preview roadmap.

    Gameplay

Aim acceleration can now be adjusted by players via in-game option

Player weapon damage has been increased against vehicles. We will continue to monitor player feedback and telemetry and make further balancing adjustments as needed in future updates

FPP Solo matchmaking queue will be made available for NA/EU/and Oceanic servers. We will open other modes within those regions as concurrency allows

Fixed an issue that caused indoor lighting and shadows to appear too dark and blueish

Analog stick acceleration added while exiting the plane and while parachuting

    Optimization

    PhysX performance enhancements

    Server FPS slightly increased

    Client FPS slightly increased

    Some VFX received slight optimizations

    Option

    Music on/off option added

    Bug fixes

Addressed a number of known crashes

Fixed a UI issue that occurred when multiple players attempted to loot from the same source

The servers will be in maintenance from 1 AM PST / 9 AM UTC / 6 PM KST in preparation for the new patch. It will take about 30 minutes.

Please close the game and update your client. Apologies for the inconvenience.

That patch brought a pretty huge performance increase! Seems much much smoother tonight.
