He was terrible. That's happened to him a few times. I he misses 2 or 3 in a row near the start his brain goes to Mush

He takes a dive from time to time but he did a better job of hiding it if he failed deliberately this time.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Methinks The Sinnerman’s questions were made slightly easier.

    ‘’What’s half of 140?’’

    Boo-urns!

Was good that, lots of the best clips are already on youtube but still funny.

The nutbar with the bird dropping a turtle on a man's head story and the oxymoron moron...

    He's a real momentum player

I think the Sinnerman probably has the vastest general knowledge but he's more methodical, Shaun is a machine when he's on form

Just saw an episode on tv3 (no idea how recent it was originally aired) with a very average team leaving a target of 17 (all 3 that got through got through in dubious enough fashion - with the Beast missing a few strange ones)

Anyway Beast gets to 16 correct answers with a bit to spare, answers a question requiring a 'colour' with 'snow' instead of 'white', then gets pushed back; pauses for an age and finally answers correctly to get to 16 again, once again gets the next one wrong and rinse and repeat once again, until the team ultimately hold out to sneak it.

Some very long pauses and dubious answers given by him it must be said

Granted - I'm sure they do have to throw a certain amount of games to keep it interesting but it definitely takes from the show for me. Thankfully it's rare (outside the celeb version)

^ I've definitely seen a few episodes where flubbed answers were given in order to built tension in the last 30 seconds.

The latest Christmas Celeb special for example - 7 opportunities to pushback, 1 executed - lost with 1 to go. It felt like they were attempting to give it to them.

Yep, to be fair on the 'civilian' editions I don't notice it too often, but there are definitely dubious looking episodes. Quite noticeably, the sum is relatively small in each instance too

I can't find this particular episode on YouTube but it was definitely fishy to me

Generally the Beast will pass straight away when he doesn't know an answer but with 8 seconds on the clock he paused for about 5 seconds before saying he didn't know. On his first attempt to catch 17 (he actually got the ultimate question to catch them wrong 4 times including a wild stab with one second remaining) he gave the answer "snow" when Bradley asked for a colour. Naturally this pretty much handed the answer to the team also, ensuring a push back - "white"

Ok fair enough the producers probably have to ensure there's a healthy balance between the Team and Chaser winning, to hold on to viewers, but this one was particularly blatant for me

It didn't help the team were annoying so-and-so's either!

In fact I generally find myself cheering on the Chaser :p:D (except the Vixen, who I've never warmed to)

    I agree, guys!

I watched that episode last night and admittedly I did cheer for the team (as I always do) but that whole Beast's mess up just at the very end when he got all the way up to 16, seemed very dubious indeed.
I do love The Chase though and Bradley is gas!!!

Love the chase, would watch it all day....in fact, I’m sick with a cough and cold at the mo so that’s what I’m doing! I do agree that they definitely throw the game in the celebrity episodes so that the team win - it’s quite obvious. In one of the episodes I was watching just while ago they asked Shaun what colour the Simpsons are and he said “blue”! Ffs! There’s no way he would not know that.

I still love it though! My friend got me the chase card game for Christmas - he knows me so well!

It was on be3 this evening. I think they show all the UTV shows a day later.

Only caught the second half of it - that's one show I'd love to be at a filming of, Bradly Walsh is very, very funny!

Saw one of my favourite episodes ever earlier. Irish guy Lee persuades Duncan to go for the extra money, he does and wins. Then Irish guy takes -3000 and Duncan is disgusted. Enjoy!

Nope, and they both went to buzz in on "The pH scale ranges from 0 to what number." Lee got in first. He is a teacher, and said 7. Duncan looked pissed. Got 21 and then three out of six pushbacks and lost with 7 seconds left.

Duncan said it could be worse, Lee could have won money haha.

Love the show except when Jenny "the Vixen" Ryan is on - no fun at all with her and the worst of the knowledge

And it wouldn't be the same without Bradley

+1 It it is often stupidly obvious to me. They could easily do it better on the sly, e.g. have different set of questions lined up, if the chase is doing too well switch to "questions B" or "C" to both slow them down and given them a chance to legitimately pass on a question, which suit the others better or are just in general harder questions. Some questions are pathetic like early ones on who wants to be a millionaire. I have seen some questions which obviously appeared to suit contestants more than the chaser and made to passed onto the contestants, e.g. questions about the soap opera or song they appear on, or something related to the line of expertise they have, which often backfires when they do not cop it!

You'll often find the chaser's last few questions are ridiculously easy, Whether they picked A or B.

In the multiple choice section 2 examples are old English wars and relationships of one British monarch to another. The chasers always get these right.

That is the problem I am getting at, if the chaser is finding it stupidly easy, and has loads of time left, -then intead of feeding them the same standard "pub quiz" questions which they have to fake over and pretend to be taking time.

They could on the spur of the moment, behind the scenes, have a team of selectors throw a curve ball question, one which might suit the other and be more believable that the chaser does not know. The chaser themselves could even have a hand in this. It often seems so needlessly fake and cringeworthy, like letting a little kid win at some game, it is so OTT sometimes I am looking for them to give a knowing wink or something.

    +1000

I love all the other 4 chasers in their own way, they're brilliant personalities and have their own unique quirks that I love

Never warmed to the Vixen though

Ps fair play to that Duncan guy above, what an absolute snake in the grass.

Yeah she's so smug and not very intelligent either. Her questions always seem to be easy too..
