I wouldn't worry about any player that got overlooked or whatever. They'll all be in by the time the game comes around.

Do the alternates get the bonus that a lot of contracts include for Probowl selection?

Yeah it's usually how it goes. My immediate reaction was: no Akiem Hicks and no Jordan Howard is a total joke. They should get in eventually. But I would not swap Howard out for anyone else in the league right now. He has been phenomenal in much tougher circumstances than any of the actual nominations.

He might possibly be forced out of any direct involvement with the franchise, but unless he can be legally forced to sell his stake I can't ever see him doing it. Any NFL franchise is a complete cash cow, not to mention all the publicity it brings amongst other things. I think it's a sympathy play and a terrible one at that.

The NFL is an overall club/business with individual franchises so it's not really like being forced to sell any other independent business. During the Jerry Jones/Goodell saga there was mention of the NFL's ability to force out owners it doesn't want.
Article VIII of the NFL’s Constitution & Bylaws. Specifically, Section 8.13 authorizes the Commissioner to determine that an owner “has been or is guilty of conduct detrimental to the welfare of the League or professional football.” If the Commissioner believes the available sanction (a $500,000 fine) is “not adequate or sufficient,” the Commissioner may refer the issue to the NFL’s Executive Committee, which has the power to compel “[c]ancellation or forfeiture of the franchise in the League of any member club involved or implicated,” with a directive to sell the team.

I can’t wait until players start pulling out because of “injuries” and Josh McCown is a Pro Bowl QB

McCown has a legitimate injury so he cant go either, they'll have to give to Bortles or someone :pac:

Pro Bowl is nothing more than a popularity contest at this point. The fan vote makes it even more ridiculous.

Does Brady ever go when he is nominated, I understand 1-3 year players going, Hawaii trip and publicity, I'm assuming veterans get tired of it

In previous years I voted for players on rival teams to the Patriots just on the off chance my vote would send them to the Pro Bowl and in turn, make those players more expensive to keep when contract negotiations came up :pac:

Yeah, the Saints seem to be doing disproportionately well, has a look of hard-core fan mobilisation to it.

Yeah, it was Orlando last year as well. They tried to liven the whole thing up a bit, with a skills competition & a game of dodgeball (NFC vs AFC), before the actual match the next day.

The dodgeball competition was actually highly entertaining. I hope they do that again. Or else some other random sport.

The Seattle Seahawks were fined $100,000 by the NFL on Thursday for failure to follow concussion protocol during their 22-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10, the NFL and NFLPA announced in a joint statement.

After quarterback Russell Wilson took a hit to the head, the league and the NFLPA determined through a joint review that "there was a failure in the application of the protocol following the tackle."

Around The NFL will have more on this story shortly.

Pocket change. Hardly gonna scare teams from not doing the same.

Maybe it was that special water Russell Wilson has. I mean I'm right in thinking it's the team doctor(in this case the Seahawks) and an independent neurologist who administers the impact assessment test ?

Agree, you'd definitely take that hit for your franchise QB to play in a must-win game

James Harrison released by the Steelers.

So will trading Jimmy G go down as the worst move of Bills career? The guy looks insane. I feel like you can call him elite already. This is nuts.
