Gently snowing up here near the Wicklow gap. Maybe had a couple of centimetres of wet snow during the night. Roads are slushy but passible. Don't know for how long though.

Lovely to wake up to this morning! Sooo tempted to go wake the kids so we can get started on them snowmen!! Still snowing too....big juicy snowflakes! ðŸ˜

    Just outside Carlow town

Was just out in Dublin 8 and it's raining pretty heavily. If that was snow it would be some accumulation so looks like we we're lucky here to avoid it. Be safe out there

Looking to get from Arklow to Galway city...any idea how things are on the M6? Pissing rain here in Wicklow at the moment

    I’d go
    All motorway
You will be driving in snow but against any traffic
You might see snow near the tap or more likely at the glen of the downs and then as you head into Kildare all the way down
Full tank and shovel in boot
    Fully charge phone

To my great surprise it's snowing here!!
I went to bed and it was raining.

Anyway, how much snow has accumulated overnight for those in the North West and Midlands? I wonder what Knock is like.

Few reports around East Galway of heavy snow and electricity out, no fun in that.

We are away until afternoon so can't report anything but according to powercheck electricity may be gone

Quite often this morning people are mentioning temperature. Of course it's far more complex than that with dew points and upper air temps equally indeed more important.
It can snow at 5C and rain at 0C

I expect large disruption today as remaining ppn across the country quickly turns to snow
Places like Clare/ Limerick and later Cork should all see some

I think Cork will be a sleety mix except maybe higher ground. Met eireann are not too bothered by it here in cork anyway.

Not an ounce of snow overnight in Naas, disappointing was looking forward to a snow day. Hopefully we get some throughout the day.

Indo back with hysterical sensationalist sh1te headline again

snow and ice bomb hits Ireland with temperatures to plummet to -8C tonight

Pity the headline writer doesn't look out the window.

It would be great to see it falling during daylight hours. We live in hope.
