Say something nice about the Queen and /or the Royal family

    The Queen : What a remarkable lady. She's been representing her country since world War 2 in a dignified and exemplary way. Someone that their nation is very proud of and looks up to in a big way

    The Queen and the Royal family are the best brand that the United Kingdom have today.

    The United Kingdom will never have the same quality of a states person than the Queen ever again

    When she was 90 years old. She had 350 UK and 35 foreign engagements. She is very important to the image of the UK

    The United Kingdom will lose a lot when she is gone, especially in this time of sleazy politicians and boris johnson

    I am not a fan of monarchy in general or the British royals in particular, but when I saw footage of them visiting the Guinness factory during their visit a few years ago, I developed a new respect for them.

    Can you imagine spending sixty years touring around breweries/cheese factories/shoe factories, and having to feign interest in these things each time?

    I wouldn't want to do it, anyhow.

    Dunno, but they discuss the American one on this site.

    There's a big wide world beyond Ireland, the royal family are a pretty well known monarchy.

    I don't see the problem in Irish people discussing them tbh. Especially as we live in an island that has a sizable enough amount of people that are "loyal" to them.

    Just finished the latest season of the Crown yesterday. Good show. Anything I know about them is based on that programme and I have come to the conclusion that they're some crowd of madsers. It's amazing that you can have all these European monarchies that are all the same family and the citizens of each country is loyal to whatever family member happens to be ruling at the time. Fly's in the face of nationhood and all the wars that went on.
