Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    two big, massive, unacceptable negatives from CoO.

    1. You can't do the prestige leviathon raid if you don't have CoO - the raid you could do on Tuesday morning, you can't do on Tuesday night, because you don't buy the next DLC? This is taking 'on disc' dlc to a new level. Absolutely unacceptable imo.

    2. The new CoO Quickplay and Competitive PVP Modes. You narrow your PvP modes down to two so that player population can be more easily managed and matched up - and come the first DLC you split your community not only into the haves and have nots, but force the 'haves' to make a selection? I just want to play PvP - I don't want to have to decide if that my choice is going to exclude x% of the population. And is it just because of the 2 (1 if you are on xbox) new map? If it is because of the map.... just let everyone have access to the map - keep player population as high as possible. If it is because of new weapons and armor.... I have to ask why? is the new stuff OP vs the old stuff? If there is a basic balance, then just let everyone play together. If a 'have not' gets killed by a gun they can't get, or are impresssed by an exotic they can't get.... firstly: so what? secondly - maybe it will encourage them to get CoO - which would be a good business move.

    Just seems these decisions will completely turn off players who haven't got CoO, rather than encourage them to buy it, and will have, at best, a negative impact on the player population which is surely something you would want to avoid as a priority.

    I just can't get my head around what they have done.

    On CoO itself. Story seemed good enough - I'll play through it again (twice to be honest) and see if I can understand it a bit better and take it in a bit better. Not got enough new weapons to comment on them - only got the Auto off Ikora, a crap looking Rocket Launcher and a Fusion. Everything else I got was vanilla D2stuff. No new exotic. 1 day down.... no Jade Rabbit for me.

    I saw a video this morning which suggested they have nerfed the Jade Rabbit pretty hard. No longer three taps. Not sure if it's true but it did cross my mind that Bungie may have set up a unit just to troll you. :)

    to be honest I would have been surprised if it three tapped - that would have made it very powerful in comparison to other scouts and generally other weapons in the game.

    there are now 4 PvP playlists.

    Quickplay, CoO Quickplay, Competitive, CoO Competitive. It also feels like the CoO options are secondary to the 'main options', just going by the visual design.

    I do think D1 did similar, with the 'have nots' relegated to a 'legacy' playlist - but it still feels like absolutely the wrong thing to do.

    they nerfed Telesto as well, doesn't generate orbs for teammates, doesn't have battle runner perk.

    I'm not sure what Bungie's thought process is in bringing back worse versions of great D1 guns.

    That's... Weird. Especially with the master works orb creation. I could even understand of it only proc'd vs pve enemies.

    On a general level, though, if some guns came back as they were it would near break the game.

    Yeah - I was getting wrecked by that last night. I thought it was just team shotting but seemingly that gun is very OP. Why isn't it just a solar version of Coldheart? Why is it so much more powerful?

    With the way bungie work too it will be 3 months before anything (IF anything) is done about it.

    I'm probably done with Destiny. Not bought the DLC and the sandbox changes indicate they're pretty happy with PvP at the moment, but its just too slow.

    Played for about 30 mins last night - Seems okay. Nice there are heroic strikes again.

    There is a LOT of hate on the Bungie app Forums for CoO.

    The hardcore fanboys are beyond saving at this point, can't see the forums ever returning to what they used to be.

    If the game can't be saved, will Bungie just play it out for the next year or so and knock the game on the head?

    They have a contract with Activision, so they can't give up on Destiny anytime soon.

    I don't think they can ignore Destiny 2 if Destiny 3 is going to be a thing - they need to win back fans before Destiny 3 or it could be dead in the water.

    They need to be active over the next few months to see and respond to what people aren't liking - talking from end game stuff down to things like the new Coldheart thing being OP in Crucible (that needs to be fixed with a hotfix immediately - that is trials destroying sh1t right there).

    Maybe Destiny 2 can't be saved (I disagree, I think there are many obvious things they could do that would have a huge impact) but they have to try their very best to save it - regardless of the outcome. Financially, contractually, they just have to.

    If ever a gun was to win the "What were they thinking?" award, it's the Year 1 Mythoclast. Remember running round thinking I was a youtuber and this was after they nerfed it at least once.

    It really does. Have watched a couple vids on it now, and oh boy. Trials will probably be a no go this weekend. The gun looks like it would be great for Calus, but for PvP it's just madness.

    As Syboit says, Coldheart was super annoying in PvP. Recall running 4 Coldhearts at launch in Crucible and it just wasn't fair. It got to the point where if the other team weren't running Coldheart, we'd swap it out for a normal gun. But Heartburn just looks too insane in comparison. I dread to think of 4 of the ba$tard things running around.

    Played a bit last night and felt similar. Shame as I absolutely loved D1 PVP and PVE, but it's all too much a departure from what I actually enjoyed about the original.

    Yup, got it last night. Been using it in pve, the perks are good allright, regen and precision reloads a bit.

    myself and civic and totz ran the story missons last night, was enjoyable if a bit short but i got my moneysworth for 20 squid.
    I payed more to go to the cinema so can`t complain really

    The heroic adventure is a bit of a tough slog with momentum.

    Now to do it all again with my titan

    Obviously some of you will have figured this out already but after a lot of looking I figured out how to trigger the heroic public event on mercury, when you get shot across to the island and kill the yellow bar, a oracle type entity spawns at back of map, kill it to form a platform, keep killing them to make more platforms and jump to top stand on plate to trigger heroic.

    Heroic is boss has a shield and take it down by killing enemies to spawn yellow bar, kill yellow bar and slam the charge it drops onto big tower in center.
    Rinse repeat.


    And also I haven't figured it out yet but some kind of puzzle in brother vanes room with interactive books.

    Puzzle in Vances room is for the golden chest behind the barrier under the walkway.
    There's 5 books with glowy symbols you need to examine in order:

    In the center, to the left of Vance.
    From the entrance, to the back-right along the library shelves.
    From the entrance, go left and it's behind a brazier
    End of the long table on the right of the room
    Up to the right of the forge wall thing, jump to reach it

    If you get them all in time you'll see something about a decryption conflux, over near that round table.
    Scan that and you get to the chest for some tokens and possibly a legendary engram

    I do think I see what the bug in the heartburn is though.... I think it has been given the damage off the very similar looking laser grid lines at the end of the Strike vs the Cabal boss. Those yokes melt when you go near them, I reckon there is something going on with the damage output on them.

    Apparently tonnes of people are getting refunds for base game because an achievement that was available in vanilla is now locked behind a pay-wall with dlc!

    Let's see how long it takes bungo to fix that mess

    Tried one of them last night - the one with the Fallen. Only made it off the platforms with a second or two left on the timer. must be something else for the timer (exotic quest?) but took me an age to then kill the captain. His shotgun yoke was MELTING me every time I got near him. Didn't have the patience for trying another one - I can only imagine the one with the cabal fella running away will just prove to much for my sanity. I remember him being irritating when playing it on normal - the thought of trying to put enough DPS on him in Heroic.... UGH.
    That's the one I tried, figured it was the easiest out of the three, the Cabal fella can f off for now, same with the hive.

    Took forever to kill him, as you said, anytime I got close enough to shoot, he's murder me with his gun so I'd have to leg it to get some health back.

    Deffo not a solo thing if you want to get that timer.

If you don't kill him by the last checkpoint, he swans off and 2 yellow bars (One with the gas tanks on his back and one of the jumpy sword feckers) spawn with reinforcements. Kill these 2 and you complete the adventure and get the chest. It's how I got that part of the Milestone done. I was hanging back because fcuk Momentum and he'd gone before I knew it.

    Bit cheeky of them, although was reading on Reddit that they did similar in D1

    Did not know that, I thought you had to catch the tanky bastard or you had to restart, that's why I didn't go near it.

    Up to 313LL now so they might be a bit easier, thing I was only 305 when I tried first.

    On another note, the material gathering for the prophecy cube things is painfully slow.

    Every paid DLC in the first game gimped the game for players who didn't buy them, so while I think it's a crappy practice I don't see why people are getting up in arms about it now. I can't remember if the dlcs locked out any trophies from the vanilla game before though to be fair.

    Speaking of heroic adventures myself and dude did the one where you have to chase down the cabal lad. But I can't pick up the other 2 it says already active. What's the story there? Nothing showing up on map.

    When TDB dropped, you where still able to run VoG HM without the DLC though. The existing content before a DLC wasn't suddenly gated behind that DLC paywall.

    that they had a state of Destiny 2 thing last week - talked about being more open and more tranparent... and follow it up with:

    A sandbox patch they didn't announce/detail until after they dropped it.
    Locking Vanilla players out of a Raid mode they had access to the day before...

    Its insane.

    Its no issue that they would have someone working on Bright Engrams. The linking of them to player progression and chase? That seems weird.

    Is that an admission that Eververse IS the end game content?

    Ive not bought silver and I have no desire to based on what is available in the eververse. I'll probably work to get one of the armour sets completed (have season 1 hunter, probably go for season 2 titan) but I don't feel the need to spend money to get these things. I got about 14 engrams since CoO dropped. I reckon that rate will slow but I feel I get them consistently enough to not bother paying for it.

    I think the fact that you can't straight up buy stuff for silver is weird. That would be somethign that could sway me to buying Silver, but I'm not going to buy silver to dump into a random loot box.
