So long. I held out for so long. I watched the thread, and the price same down. I even had one in my cart on Friday, but managed not to click buy. 'Nope' I told myself, 'you don't actually need it'.

    ....but that I couldn't turn down. Bought.:o

Sure at a price like that, you couldn't let it go :P

What content does the shield support in HDR?  I've tried using netflix and amazon.
The resolution is set to 4K 59.940 (recommended), but my TV does not detect HDR?

Overall, I must say i'm delighted with the purchase.

Yeah, I haven't found a definite answer to that. Have been using Netflix and Amazon with my native TV app until I find a solution. I read somewhere that you had to drop frame rate to 30, but that didn't make a difference for me.

I’ve been able to play HDR content from Plex without issue @ 60hz.

Check that all the devices in the HDMI chain are HDMI 2.0a complaint. Check that you have reasonably new cables (High speed is required but most cables should be). Also check that the HDMI port on the TV is HDMI 2.0a (some tellies only have one port that will work)

I've played HDR content from netflix and amazon. Display changes slightly and shows the logo for HDR in the top right for a second or two.

The shield also supports dolby atmos.

Ordered one on Friday but it seems that it hasn't been dispatched yet.

No money taken off me to pay for it either.

Has anyone experiencing the same issue?

Checked a few YouTube videos about setting it up. This one seems very thorough. Any thoughts?

Yeah, Amazon UK are terrible for this. I bought a cyber Monday special which they list as in stock and fulfilled by Amazon. It's not been dispatched yet either and has an expected delivery date of 11 December!

They can be a bitch for that alright .
If its in stock and sold by amazon get onto customer care and ask for it to be dispatched asap.Say its a birthday present or similar.

Meh, it's just a mouse. If it was the Shield though I'd be hopping!

But I already own a Shield. And it's fooking class!!! :)

That does seem like a bargain for homeplugs, but I can't see any link to buy? Maybe they are not in stock?

If you already have a homeplug, but need more network ports at that location, it'll probably be cheaper to buy a basic network switch like this. That way you'll have lots of extra ports available to you.

Network switch worked a charm cheers

Just if anyone's interested I monitored my 2015 Sheild's power usage over the last 24 hours. Interesting the power usage during sleep/off - between 2 and 4 watts but a few spikes here and there. Fairly obvious the hours it's being watched by the kids

Anyone have RTÉ player working on the Shields? We have no broadcast TV any longer after ditching Sky and trying to figure out how we’ll watch the Toy Show on Friday night

No, I tried Chromecasting the match at the weekend from an iOS device (their Android app doesn't support Chromecast ), but a huge amount of the right and bottom of the image were cut off.

Mine arrived yesterday. The game controller only seems to work when it is plugged in though so looks to be faulty. Contacted Amazon who will only refund as it was a Warehouse deal. Anyone have experience with Nvidia support to replace? Their chat looks to be down despite it saying its up.

I'm assuming you've paired it manually?

It just shows a ? which is odd.

Managed to get a hold of Nvidia support who have given me some steps to try. Will give them a try tonight and update.

    Install PuppetmasterTV at: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.puppetmaster.redux&hl=en

Then install the REKODI puppet - have a look at Public Service Broadcasters.... RTE are there :-)

I've had a SATV since 2015 and the two apps I'd love are All4 and RtePlayer... still, no dice

You should be able to sideload the rte app.
Or side load the IBOX Ireland app. The apk is on their site for Android tv boxes.
You will get 1 months free trial, then you can either pay the €3 per month for 10 tv channels incl RTEs TV3 bbc1, UTV, CH4

As a quick fix, just install the RTE Player android app - there should be a live stream of RTE on there right? Just checked, there is - yay!

Just started to use my Shield instead of a MacMini, working great. Now can play 4k HDR files :)
Using a Boxee remote with it with a custom keymap. Need to check how well the auto-start app is working which is meant to start Kodi. Anyone have any tips about auto starting an app on power on?

Any chance you could share the steps? My controller has been like this for quite a while, sounds exactly like your issue
