I'd very much appreciate a PM about this as well. I somehow managed to talk herself into impulse buying one from Amazon last night :pac:

Isn't terrible that we have to talk herself in to buying one. What has happened to us?I'm the same at home.HAHA:D

Add me to this please, though when Mrs Crinklewood finds out the stuff I bought yesterday she'll kill me.

    Me too if possible please.

I'm not quite technologically challenged but am very unfamiliar with how to configure Android boxes to make the most of them.

If people are telling you to install builds in Kodi I highly recommend avoiding that advice and instead installing a couple of the main addons for what you want (Movies, TV, live tv?) instead. Builds are a mess and filled with mostly crap people don't want that slow down Kodi.

Just my 2c on it anyway.

Alternatively look into PLEX which is miles better. There are lots of servers out there.

I couldn't get one of my sets of BT headphones to pair for some reason. I've been using wired ones plugged into the controller until now. Will try with my other set of BT headphones later.

The volume slider on the remote is terrible, accidental volume change is a daily thing.
HOW DO I ADJUST THE VOLUME USING SHIELD REMOTE?
SHIELD remote provides a touch-sensitive region below the voice search button that extends down to the bottom on the remote. This region acts as a volume control slider. Sliding up will increase the volume and sliding down will decrease the volume.

From what I understand Sky disabled SkyGo on all Andoird/iOS devices that have an HDMI out port on them. I've read there are workarounds but cant vouch for their efficacy

the voice search works, but the full google assistant that you controls your smart home a la google home only works with region set to us!

@moonboy, my iplayer disappears on the region change, so I guess I'll have to sideload the iPlayer app!

iPlayer does indeed work with vpn though, so that's great !

Been thinking of getting one of these while now, especially since Friday though even more so.

Is the current price on Amazon only applicable for Blackfriday, I've 159 instead of 189 does anyone know.

    Are Amazon the only sellers?

I've a bog standard android box the last ye or so that works fine for kodi etc but tempted to upgrade

Ah right. Must be a recent thing. I always had iPlayer installed even with a language change on the 2015 model

Try turning off location services. When I have it enabled iPlayer and ITV disappear. I only need to enable it for the Eurosport player.

    ....but that I couldn't turn down. Bought.:o
