Never have an issue with payment. They primarily deal in Cash which I like.

    Generally pleasant to deal with.

Sometimes the cash is actually theirs.

    1. They help keep our legal class in the style to which they have become accustomed
    2. They keep bouncers and security personnel in employment
    3. They ensure that lots of people with otherwise useless degrees in cultural studies have taxpayer-funded jobs
    4. They keep council clean-up teams busy
    5. The construction and constant ongoing refurbishment of halting sites keeps many construction, design and planning staff working
    6. They keep the Gardai busy
    7. They ensure that many rural dwellers keep firearms dealers ticking over nicely
    8. They contribute to the employment of intruder alarm installers
    9. They keep animal cruelty staff in employment

Ditto: Caravan salespeople, customs officials, manufacturers of ostentatious headstones, Slashhook suppliers etc.

Imagine the unemployment rate in this country if it weren't for the magnificent contribution of the wonderful travelling community.

the discrimination isn't of their own making no . discrimination is never of the making of the discriminated. the discriminators will blame the discriminated for their discrimination because they want to find some excuse to continue the discrimination because it gives them power over the discriminated.

no it's people getting away with it is what causes it. the culture or criminality are separate to discrimination.

You're right its not discrimination if people call them out on what they do culturally or criminally

But why is that? People dont " discriminate " for no reason

agreed. however we both know that it isn't simply sticking to that. hence the EU council and the UN findings that travelers are 1 of the 2 most discriminated against groups in europe.

Because the silly working people don't understand that it is the crime, theft, violence, ostentatious spending of unaccountable wealth, and taxpayer subsidies generated by their poor discriminated mobile brethren that keeps so many of them in jobs.

EU and UN situated a nice distance from any halting sites I'd imagine

Went to school with this one traveller girl in primary school who was the most polite and quiet girl you could ever meet. She was lovely and extremely smart. Pity she didn’t get to further her education.

*Well when Roma women beg while doping their child on ketamine or heroin* they deserve everything they get in my book. Why do you think there are so many kids going missing in Europe?
To be honest when members of the EU council or UN go & live next to a halting site for a year then they can talk about them being discriminated against

**Plenty of evidence online for those easily offended

they would still be able to gather the evidence needed. you can't get away from, or deny the facts that their findings are accurate, as much as you might like them to be otherwise.

Well maybe they should look at the prison & crime percentages.

It is recognised that there is a disproportionate number of Travellers within Irish prisons – although Travellers only account for 0.6% of the overall population in the Republic of Ireland they account for 22% of the female prison population and 15% of the male prison population (source: Irish Prison Service).

certainly those women deserved to be arrested, charged and locked up, agreed 100%
those who aren't involved in criminality don't deserve to be discriminated against however.

i don't know. but whatever the reason, it's concerning either way and the authorities need to get to grips with it.

no they can talk about them being discriminated against now. they have made their findings, travelers are one of the 2 most discriminated against groups in europe. no amount of twisting and all else will change the findings.

they likely would have had to look at that as part of their evidence gathering.
