seems a bit needless, is there really an audience for this show in the mornings? s

Maybe it's NT's attempt to compensate for the shortcomings in the sports content of their breakfast radio programming. Although you'd imagine it'd be cheaper and handier to just fire and replace 'Quinny'...

Was browsing Twitter this morning and came across it, so I tuned in. Unfortunately at the time, Graham Hunter was on (complete with sun glasses whilst clearly on Skype in his hotel room!). Needless to say, I didn't stay tuned in for too long, not sure what to make of it, seems a bit needless, is there really an audience for this show in the mornings? Time will tell I guess

On a list of things I don't want to experience during breakfast...

Could it be that the OTB boys are thinking of doing a Second Captains thing and going solo. The OTB 'brand' is becoming far more prominent.

I saw that on Facebook. Hunter with the dark shades on. Indoors. In November. Ok, I know he’s at pains to remind us he’s in Spain but still... the guy is an insufferable you know what’s it and the shades cemented it for me!

What are they watching for their goal updates ? RTE or What? Very slow with goal updates . Talking about PSG'S 6th about 2 mins after they got their 7th.

    RTÉ weren't showing that game.

I know, but they mentioned the rte game. Generally the tv stations are fairly slow with goal updates from other games so if they were watching the rte game and only giving the goal ipdates when rte did , it'd fit in with the timeline.

I only noticed because I put otb on when I got in to the house to keep listening to the ray mancini interview and had the bt sport goals show on as well with the sound down.

Radio stations operate at a delay too. Don't know how much of one though.

I've also noticed that there is a significant time difference between some radio Web streams and what's being broadcast on FM.

    No paper review today?

They weren't in studio at all. Started at Turf Moor at 1300 and went from there.

A very trivial complaint, but does anyone else find Gary Breens excessive use of the the phrase "in terms of" annoying?? He's a decent pundit but, as I was listening to him yesterday, I noticed everything he says is "in terms of this, and in terms of that". Got very annoying once I noticed it! :pac:

As his old centre-back sidekick Kenny might say, possibly so.:p

I cannot abide Gary's accent. I feel like I've just landed into the Queen Vic and sat next to one of the Mitchell brothers. Total channel changer.

Dunno why they have Declan Lynch on the paper review so much, just rambles on and stumbles over himself constantly

I find him really funny - some of the things he says. A lot of the time I completely disagree with him but the way he states things is well thought out and he purges it all in the show. Clearly he hates private schools, rugby, the establishment etc and is quiet bigoted towards that strata of society in my opinion. Despite that, there are nuggets of truth in what he says and even though he is very bitter, he is bloody hilarious in how he gets that across.

Anyone else think Kilbane is very narky on off the ball? He seems to get annoyed a lot of the time on there, like he doesn't want to be there.

If you had to spend any time with those clowns you might be narky too. The man is only human.

I had to turn it off this evening. Do they start with that mindless lads 'banter' every evening? Just awful

For me, Nathan and Dave are the only redeeming features of what once was a great show. The other presenters drive me nuts. Richie McCormack is so politically correct, it wouldn't surprise me if he followed Chris O'Donoghue into Simon Coveneys back pocket.

I like when Dan is on too. He is reasonably serious without being up his own arse.

Dan O'Donnell is my favourite contributor, superb knowledge of Irish football and well able to articulate his opinion, never comes across rude or arrogant or bored either.

I think Kevin's mood will vary depending on who he is on with, anytime an ex team mate is on, he is always fairly enthusiastic. He must get a bit bored of doing so much media though, there's only so much you can talk about before it gets painful

he gives great regular updates on the circus side show that is the FAI too. listening to him go on about that marketing guy they brought over last year to reinvigorate the league of ireland was hilarious

I ended up following the OTB guys on Twitter. I had to drop Richie instantly. He was so bad it was almost a parody.

Missed that completely. When was it, d'you know? Wouldn't mind listening back.

Wow, incredible straight talking here with Gatland. Nobody in Irish rugby will be speaking to each other if he keeps telling these stories!

I remember driving with my Dad before with OTB on the radio.

He's a big sports guy and I was trying to introduce him to OTB. After about 5 mins of 'bantering' during the news at the beginning of the show, he just looked at me and said "turn those clowns off would ya"
