That’s what happens when cold air meets warm along a front it peps up precipitation inevitably
    Still lashing

Interesting temperatures right out over the western isles of Scotland. Benbecula has risen from -1c at 6pm to +1c now. South Uist holding firm at 0c.

As this airmass continues to dig down southwards, precip could turn to snow, especially under heavier falls.

Meanwhile it's 10c in Wexford and a balmy 16c in London!

With such differences across the weather front, it's easy to see how such high rainfall totals were achieved in places. Unusually there hasn't been much sparks at all.

Currently 4.7c. Rain at 10am was 15.1mm here in South Laois.

    Interesting indeed, 2c at 17:50, -1c at 18:50 and up to 1c at 19:50

Benbecula is right out there though as you say, easy for some temperature variations with the big body of water surrounding it. To be honest, I'm surprised it's that cold there at all!

    Thanks for posting it!

Can be annoying when one misses them as I (and I assume many others) don't check the weather forum page that often!

4.9c here now, I don't see it going much lower here, another .8mm added to the total bringing it to 37.6mm.

Might be some nice white slopes in the morning in areas!

"However scattered wintry showers will move into Atlantic counties - whilst snow will mainly transpire for higher ground, the odd flurry is possible on lower levels."

Some cautious optimism in the FRI/SAT Met Eireann forecast.

Nice bright day today it’s cold but it’s far from any kind of event. Looks like a frosty night tonight good news for the Indo and the journal. Was in mountmellick today with work I thought it better not to mention how interesting yesterday’s weather was.
